| 3. Superman: Brainiac |
|
By: Geoff Johns Publisher: DC Comics March 09, 2010
Being primarily a Batman fan, I've only recently discovered the greatness of the world's first/prototypical superhero: Superman. The first Superman graphic novel I read was Superman: Birthright, an excellent and tasteful 21st Century update of the original origin story. Since then I've searched for the best of Superman (mostly modern tales) and Superman: Brainiac makes the top 5. Opening 35 years... more

| 4. Green Lantern (Book 1): No Fear |
|
By: Geoff Johns Publisher: DC Comics May 20, 2008
As a newcomer to GL series I started with GL: Rebirth and was overwhelmed by a sheer number of terms and characters. I didn't like it for that reason. This volume actually is a much better start for a new reader as it focuses on a story and a few characters instead of trying to mention everything in GL mythos... more

| 6. The Flash Vol. 2: Rogues |
|
By: Geoff Johns Publisher: DC Comics February 01, 2003
Geoff Johns continues with his good work on the Flash here, and again in this series the Rogues gallery is well handled. A few stories that focus on the bad guys of the piece, in this trade, as the title indicates.
The most interesting is again, Captain Cold, showing a bit more depth to the character than you might otherwise think.

|
By: Geoff Johns Publisher: DC Comics October 27, 2009
If you aren't a fan of the Legion of Superheroes, this book might not be for you. If you don't know who "Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, and Cosmic Boy" are, you might have some trouble figuring out who is who, and just what exactly is going on.
Geoff Johns, the brilliant mind behind Infinite Crisis, and the guy who resurrected Green Lantern continues several of his own works in this installment... more

| 9. Green Lantern Vol. 2: Revenge of the Green Lanterns |
|
By: Geoff Johns Publisher: DC Comics October 07, 2008
That is the main question that is answered in this book. The main story is how the GL Corps treats Hal as well as Hal's attempt at redemption by saving the lives of many GLs he thought he had killed as Parallax. There is a side story with Green Arrow that could have been left out and another with Batman to show how he accepts Hal.
I liked the Batman story. It wasn't great but it had... more
