Some how Ed Brubaker & Steve Epting were able take Bucky (once believed to be one of the lamest characters) to replace an assasinated Steve Rogers as Captain America and it comes off amazing. The art is incredible, the plot has so many twists without being out of the realm of comic book possibilities, and its all fantastic. I don't know how this could have been any better!! Great stuff!!... more

The number one, best comic books ever in my opinion is the Watchmen #1-12.
The number two, best comic books ever in my opinion is Captain America #1-25 and all the other extra issues they have in here. I've read this Omnibus like 3 times since I got it... last Christmas or the Christmas before I forget. It's really that great... more

By: Ed Brubaker, Roger Stern, Mark Waid, Luke Ross, Gene Colan, Dale Eaglesham, Butch Guice Publisher: Marvel Comics February 17, 2010
There is little in the way of contribution here to the primary story line. While the extras interesting, I felt like I had paid too much for too little, at least compared to preceding publications. Hopefully, the next installment will have more solid content and less unrelated flash back stories. ... more

This trade paperback collects issues #25-30 of Captain America (volume 5) and begins writer Ed Brubaker's epic Death of Captain America storyline. By: Ed Brubaker Publisher: Marvel Comics March 29, 2006
This is the first Captain America comic I've checked out and I'm thoroughly impressed. This is awesome. It's a great place for any new reader to start on Cap and it gives you a different image of the characters than you've usually seen. It's a great combo of espionage, politics, war, romance, and traditional comic cook thrills. The revelations about Bucky in particular grabbed me very strongly. I expected... more

By: Ed Brubaker Publisher: Marvel Comics November 26, 2008
There are not too many complaints one could have with this Captain America saga. You have love, death, a rebirth and some intense fighting scenes. The story flows well and the illustrations are excellent. You don't have to know too much about Captain Americas heroic exploits. They make sure you understand his impact on the world. A top notch comic book!... more

Ed Brubaker, Brian Michael Bendis, and Warren Ellis are making me fall in love with comics ALL over again. I had been a collector since the late seventies/early eighties (dropping in and out over time.) Ed Brubaker (who also did a GREAT run on Iron Fist) knows these characters. He brings me back to my youth while appealing to the adult in me. These aren't just guys in tights stories. He brings me back... more
