I ordered this webcam to replace my old one which was abused by my kids, so my review is based on comparison to the old one.

I haven't anything to add to the other reviews--it a great 5-star item in my opinion. Just be aware--it has a built-in microphone that works just fine. There is no need to order a separate mic. Amazon posts a little computer-generated come-on statement that customers who purchased this product also purchased a Logitech microphone, but the external mic is not necessary... more

My System which is a Windows XP system, using a type 1 USB port, will not boot with this web camera connected. It locks up on the opening windows screen, and requires a full hard reboot to recover. This is before any application software even loads as best as I can tell.

This is a great product. Autofocus works well, video is sharp and detailed (just as you would expect from a camera that shoots in HD).
Although I wish it had a remote with controls. Currently I cannot put the camera far away and zoom in on myself, or adjust where the camera is pointing without getting up and moving the camera. Other than that, it's perfect... more
