| 2. 25 Thunderous Classics |
|
From: Vox (Classical) September 05, 2000
These works are all very beautiful and energizing, however I would have preferred to have the whole song of each work on the CD. Instead they took the most robust part of each piece and played it for three minutes. For me, it detracts from the beauty or energy of the song, but for others who may not want to listen to the whole song, it is very well put together. ... more

| 3. Beethoven's Wig 4: Dance Along Symphonies |
|
By: Beethoven's Wig August 12, 2008
Bought this on the strength of Beethoven's Wig 1 and 2. #4 is a worthy follow-on. Once again Richard's quirky humor and clever lyrics make the introduction of classics to my children memorable and enjoyable. Even my 2 year old loves these. My personal favorite is the Moonlight Sonata Bonus track!... more

| 6. Strauss: The Best of Vienna |
|
From: Deutsche Grammophon January 12, 1999
I love this CD as well, it has all the most popular music numbers of the time. It is just fabulous. I received my CD within days of ordered. I couldn't be happier. My family and I dance all week to Strauss. This is the CD you must have. It is just wonderful to dance to and to listen to. Strauss in his lifetime was known as "The Waltz King", and was largely responsible for the popularity of the... more

| 8. A Window in Time: Rachmaninoff Performs His Solo Piano Works |
|
By: Sergey Rachmaninov, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Wayne Stahnke August 25, 1998
I'm not an expert, indeed I know almost nothing about the piano roll technology, but I thought the end result was magnificent! The playing is full of power, energy, and emotion. I was most surprised by how well the dynamic changes were preserved. And there are no distracting audiences noises, of course, like you have on modern live recordings of his work.
I haven't taken this... more

| 10. Complete Recordings on Deutsche Grammophon [Box Set] |
|
From: Deutsche Grammophon October 14, 2003
For reasons perhaps reflecting what may very well be a coming collapse of classical music pricing and distribution, bargains of an almost too good to be true nature continue to emerge on Amazon. This certainly is one! With the already very reasonable price slashed by half, you can now purchase all six Horowitz discs making up his recordings for DG for a little over twenty-five dollars. It's a buyer's... more
