| 1. Star Trek: The Next Generation - Complete Series |
| From: Paramount October 02, 2007
Obviously I love Star Trek: The Next Generation and if I was just reviewing the show I would say 5 stars.
The packaging, as expressed in other reviews, is simply awful. All the discs are together in brittle green case with packaging tape binding them together. The seasons aren't separated, although I will say that the discs are clearly marked so finding the seasons is more annoying than... more

| | 2. Star Trek: The Next Generation Motion Picture Collection |
| Starring: Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Levar Burton, Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn September 22, 2009
These were a gift for my son, but I watched them all with him. The Blu-ray looks fantastic on a large HD screen, and the sound is excellent. I wish Nemesis and Insurrection were better movies, but Generations and First Contact alone are worth the purchase... more

| | 3. Star Trek The Next Generation - The Complete Third Season |
| Starring: Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner July 02, 2002
Season 3 is when TNG really started to gel. The characters feel more or less developed, and Gates McFadden returns to play Dr. Crusher. At this point in the series the writers began moving away from a lot of the dated, campy material of Season 1 (and parts of Season 2)and began focusing more upon creating episodes of substance and dramatic weight. Highlights include the exciting, multidimensional "problem"... more

| Starring: Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn Directed By: Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Gates McFadden, Alexander Singer, Cliff Bole December 31, 2002
Well, here I am, just after finishing the entire series, and I'm left in awe at what a great series this turned out to be, it's a wonder this series made it past season 1, because let's face it, this series did not start out on good terms (meaning the first season), because it was such atrocious, the acting, the bad hair, the bad uniforms, and most of all the bad story lines, well, thank god Paramount... more

| Starring: Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn Directed By: Jonathan Frakes, Chip Chalmers, Cliff Bole, Corey Allen, David Carson November 05, 2002
Season 5 of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" contains many predictable elements. Big surprise, the Enterprise encounters new aliens that test the crew's versatility and quick thinking as well as meeting old foes, like the Crystalline Entity and the Borg, who make them debate good and evil, right and wrong. Season 5 includes time travel, body possession, and transporter malfunctions. For a little titillation... more

What a terrific season, I think this might be the best season in The Next Generation series, and that's saying a lot, because seasons 3, 4, and 5 are great beyond words, so to say this is the best season is pretty high ranks, of course I haven't seen season 7 yet, but I have it already (i have the whole series), and I except nothing less.
There is so much going for this season, from the... more

| Starring: Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Denise Crosby Directed By: Cliff Bole, Corey Allen, James L. Conway, Joseph L. Scanlan, Kim Manners March 26, 2002
... After watching all 7 seasons on DVD now I have found that the visual quality is quite pleasant even on a large display (52" Bravia :)). So there's no real point in holding out as there probably wont be a "this-Gen" release anyway... more

| | 8. Star Trek The Next Generation - The Complete Second Season |
| Starring: Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner May 07, 2002
Lwaxana Troi is what made this season. The episode "Manhunt' was the best episode in the first two seasons. That episode was so funny! Now, I will tell you what turned the other characters a little bit better. Riker has his beard. Worf is now Tactical Officer. Geordi is Chief Engineer. Deanna changed her outfit. Picard is still stuck-up. Wesley is a little bit better about being so whiney. The... more

| Starring: Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn Directed By: Jonathan Frakes, Chip Chalmers, Cliff Bole, Corey Allen, David Livingston September 03, 2002
Season 3 of this series is where this show really hit it's stride, writers and producers got changed, the uniforms were changed, and the opening sequence was changed, and all for the better, because the first 2 seasons of this show were not that great, season 1 was a disgrace, season 2 was an improvement, but still left much to be desired, season 3 is where this series starts for me.
And... more
