I never get tired of this movie, because the casting was wonderful. Casting Rip Torn as an admiral was inspired. Kelsey Grammar was understated, yet delightfully unpredictable, as a sub captain of misfits. Harry Dean Stanton made a totally convincing old sea dog. I'm only 35 but this sort of movie no longer appeals to me.
