| 2. A Dark Matter |
|
By: Peter Straub Publisher: Random House Audio February 09, 2010
I am a huge Peter Straub fan and consider much of his work to be superb, be it full horror or not. I particularly liked his last two releases LOST BOY LOST GIRL and IN THE NIGHT ROOM. He has always provided multi-faceted dimensions to his characters and that is what pulls me to his work. His last two were more ghost stories but they were carried by his intense characterizations. Here we get another... more

| 3. The Talisman |

By: Stephen King, Peter Straub Publisher: Random House September 15, 2001
This book was in good condition for it's age, and I received it promptly. The Talisman is a book I read in 1985, and I remembered how much I enjoyed it. This time around was just as good. Thank you, GypsyChief... more

And it was in fine shape looks like it was loved and listened to once or twice, but well taken care of!... more

| 7. H. P. Lovecraft: Tales (Library of America) |
|
By: H. P. Lovecraft Publisher: Library of America February 03, 2005
It strikes me as very odd that The Library of America has no plans to publish a second volume of H. P. Lovecraft's Works. This first volume was one of their best-selling books, and it got lots of attention. S. T. Joshi could assemble for LoA such an amazing second collection, with the rest of the tales, some of the best revisions (such as "The Mound" and perhaps "Out of the Aeons"), and with the... more

By: Peter Straub Publisher: Ballantine Books March 28, 2006
Imagine that you are a writer discovering the personalities of the characters that you have created or which have evolved as you unearthed your story. Is it possible that you could fall in love with a character, who could appear to be a dream come true as he or she emerges from the mists of your mind? Or maybe the protagonist has come from such a dreadful place that you want to find a way to salve... more

| 10. Lost Boy, Lost Girl |
|
By: Peter Straub Publisher: Random House October 07, 2003
This is first book I've read by Peter Straub, and if this one is indicative of his writing style overall, it will be my last. It's like he can't decide the style or tone he wants to use. I get that the numerous little asides are on purpose and meant to create a mood, but they were just distracting to me. And the dialogue just didn't ring true at all, to me. As for the story - interesting, creepy premise... more
