| 1. Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus: A Practical Guide for Improving Communication and Getting What You Want in Your Relationships |
|
By: John Gray Publisher: HarperCollins April 23, 1993
It's too bad that a book of this nature is necessary.
What sense does it make that the two sexes speak two entirely different languages?
Actually, it makes no sense whatsoever, yet it's true.
However, when you think about it, a book has to be written, on whatever subject, by either one sex or the other, since there are only the two sexes, right? more

| 4. The Seat of the Soul |
|
By: Gary Zukav Publisher: Free Press January 15, 1990
I was raised in a traditional Christian home and I firmly believed in the teachings of the Church. So why I'm I recommending a book that seems preoccupied with reincarnation?
Why would someone who was like me consider reading this book? If you are reading this review then you likely already know the answer. For me there were two factors. First, in order to hold a mature understanding... more

| 6. Mars and Venus on a Date: A Guide to Navigating the 5 Stages of Dating to Create a Loving and Lasting Relationship |
|
By: John Gray Publisher: HarperTorch July 08, 1998
To be fair I am on page 229/497 of my ebook... but I am not sure it is worth reading the rest.
The main points in the book are long drawn out, as if the author is just trying to fill up space. What I have read so far could have taken up 1/4 of my time and written pages in the book.
The author jumps back and forth from subject to subject. I would prefer the five stages... more

|
By: Suze Orman Publisher: Crown March 25, 1997
I have had this book on my nightstand for years, but have avoided reading it because I feared I would get a bit of a scolding for my financial habits and I was also worried that it would be too dry to read before bedtime. After buying a Kindle, this is the first non-work-related book I've read during my commute.
This book is suprisingly easy to read. There are lots of anecdotes to keep... more

This book is a decent reference. If you are an active athelete that trains for a specific sport, you will not find much in here that is earth shattering. If you are someone that just needs to get in shape then this would be a good book for you. The book does cover all of the body. There are no cons to this book. The pros are showing the reader the improper way to stretch, as well as the correct... more

| 10. Mars and Venus Starting Over: A Practical Guide for Finding Love Again after a Painful Breakup, Divorce, or the Loss of a Loved One |
|
By: John Gray Publisher: HarperCollins June 24, 1998
Not as good as Mars and Venus on a Date, and the original Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. This book is not bad, but not all that good. I recommend only for those who like the Mars and Venus series, otherwise as a standalone its not so good. I kinda liked it, but truth is, it hasn't really helped me, unlike the other two I mentioned... more
