I have Mr. Frary's other two editions of this book. I bought the first one years ago when I got interested in my trains again around 1982. So much had changed and I never was very good at scenery that I needed "something" to help me improve my lay-out. Mr. Frary's first edition helped me do a very credible job of building scenery on the lay-out at that time with his "water soluble method."

I bought this book for my seven year old son. He finds it difficult to understand the images. I have to constantly help him to build the models. I think if the images were colored he might have had a better chance of understanding. I very well understand that would have increased the price of the book exponentially.
