By: Scott Kelby Publisher: Peachpit Press September 02, 2006
I find this approach to the many things covered to be just what I need. As an accomplished photographer there are many times I need to double check or have a quick review. And this book does it. I have given it as a gift to people just starting out and they enjoy using it too. I have six photos in the Smitsonian and really appreciate this book!... more

| 3. The Photographer's Eye: Composition and Design for Better Digital Photos |
|
By: Michael Freeman Publisher: Focal Press June 06, 2007
In the past few months I have purchased and read around 12 books on both photography and photoshop/lightroom. This book is my favorite out of all of them. In the book Freeman lays out the basics of composition with detailed examples. It reads easy but explains CONCEPTS not PROCESSES. If you are new to photography or considering getting into it then read this book before any other. It will not... more

Bryan Peterson has written a fine book on photography. With modern digital SLRs the only challenge is finding the best exposure for a picture. | 6. The Adobe Photoshop CS4 Book for Digital Photographers |
|
By: Scott Kelby Publisher: New Riders Press January 01, 2009
I had a real internal debate over whether to upgrade from Photoshop Elements 7 to Elements 8 or to CS4. I had used Photoshop a while back, but I really hated the interface, so I had gone with Elements several years ago. Elements is very good--it's got about 90% of what most people ever need. But, there were a few features I missed from Photoshop CS, so in the end, I upgraded to CS4.
With... more

|
By: David D. Busch Publisher: Course Technology PTR May 26, 2009
This is not a how to book this is an in depth instruction manual. Don't buy if your looking to shoot better photo's. Buy if your looking to learn how to set up you camera and what all the features are. Read this in combination with Dummies Guide to the D90 and felt they both had great info. Would recommend to first time Nikon DSLR owners... more

| 8. The Digital Photography Book, Volume 3 |
|
By: Scott Kelby Publisher: Peachpit Press July 31, 2009
I have all 3 Digital Photography books by Scott Kelby. I like his simple explainations and easy "this is how you do it" instructions. Sometimes you don't really want or need all the technical reasons for why certain settings work, just that it does. I've reread these books multiple times, picking up something new each time... more

By: Scott Kelby Publisher: Peachpit Press January 05, 2008
I bought this book, volume 2, and I really enjoying it. The language used in this book is easy to understand, and all that we read the jargons and technical words, Scott transtalted those words in every day english. You will not be bored at any time. On person described that Scott shows how to create a studio, and this book is for biggeners so there is not point of telling studio, but as a matter... more
