| 1. Dark Tower: The Fall of Gilead |
| By: Robin Furth, Peter David, Richard Isanove Publisher: Marvel Comics February 16, 2010
I really enjoyed this hardcover. We begin with an exploration of Marten Broadcloak & his past. It's a simple but enlightening enough tale. Then the fall begins. Noticeably enough the demise of Gilead comes from within. There are some real harrowing scenes in it and the pace is relentless. Roland takes a back seat of sorts & it concentrates more on his father for as long as possible. ... more

| | 2. Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born |
| By: Peter David, Stephen King, Robin Furth Publisher: Marvel Comics November 07, 2007
As a King fan, I'd somehow avoided the Dar Tower series, probably because I didn't want to commit to a number of long books. However, finding this in a beautiful graphic form and still seeing King's distinctive stamp on it was a pleasure indeed. Now it's got me eyeing the text versions...highly recommended for all King fans and comics fans.

| | 5. Before Dishonor (Star Trek: The Next Generation) |
| By: Peter David Publisher: Star Trek October 30, 2007
Don't believe the angry denunciations of Peter David's BEFORE DISHONOR; it's a thoroughly average Trek novel that is only being pummeled because the Trek gods chose to use it as the vehicle for killing off Kathryn Janeway. It's true that much of BEFORE DISHONOR is absurd (e.g., there's a spaceship that eats planets, a counselor who knows nothing about psychology, and a captain who endures constant... more

| | 8. X-Men: The Complete Onslaught Epic, Book 1 |
| By: Jeph Loeb, Mark Waid, Scott Lobdell, Peter David, Terry Kavanagh Publisher: Marvel Comics December 20, 2007
This is a prime example of why people left comics. Publishers thought they could publish terrible art with writing lacking any substance and people would buy it, regardless. Yes, there is always mediocre comics published today, but they are not as plentiful as back in the '90's. This story and artwork hurt my stomach and heart, for I love comics. Do yourselves a favor and read Mike Carey's... more

| | 9. Star Trek: New Frontier |
| By: Peter David, Stephen Thompson Publisher: IDW Publishing October 15, 2008
Peter David wrote a number of Star Trek comics years ago. He was cautioned about some new concepts and characters he wanted to use and told that while he was "in Gene Roddenberry's sandbox" he had to conform to Trek canon. By creating Captain McKenzie Calhoun and placing him with fascinating crewmates on the Excalibur, he has opened up another "sandbox-annex" that appeals to many Trek fans. In his... more

| | 10. X-Men: X-Cutioner's Song |
| By: Scott Lobdell, Fabian Nicieza, Peter David Publisher: Marvel Comics May 01, 1994
Even though I never really followed the 'mythology' of the X-Men and had little to no pre-existed knowledge of events before 'X-Cutioner's Song', I found this comic series to be one of the best I ever read.
From the first page on, it delivers action and intrigue. The diverse characters and complex story add so much to the vast and progressing storyline and the art gives it a special feel... more
