| 1. Digital Landscape Photography: In the Footsteps of Ansel Adams and the Masters |
| By: Michael Frye Publisher: Focal Press January 20, 2010
Next to the iconic images of the Civil War by Matthew Brady, Ansel Adams is by far one of the most well known photographers of all time. His stark, chilling black and white, large scale photos of Yellowstone and other National Parks have become the standard bearer for what all landscape photographers are to aim for. Adams used lengthy exposures and large format cameras - his resulting prints were all... more

| | 2. Ansel Adams 2011 Wall Calendar |
| By: Ansel Adams Publisher: Ansel Adams August 01, 2010
The Ansel Adams Calendar is something I purchase every year. The photographs are uniformly beautiful and the quality of the calendar is excellent. One does tend to see some of the same photos from year to year, but they are great pictures.
I would also suggest reading Ansel Adams autobiography. Not only was he a great photographer, but also a musician, environmental activist, and man of... more

| | 3. The Camera (Ansel Adams Photography, Book 1) |
| By: Ansel Adams Publisher: Ansel Adams June 01, 1995
This is the first book in Ansel Adams photography series. I really cant stress enough the importance of reading all 3 of these books and reading them in their proper order. Ansel talks about a lot of techniques and many of these techniques build upon previous knowledge and previous techniques. If your serious enough about photography to have an interest in these books then you should want to do it... more

| | 4. The Drawings of Bronzino (Metropolitan Museum of Art) |
| By: Carmen C. Bambach, Janet Cox-Rearick, George R. Goldner Publisher: Metropolitan Museum of Art February 16, 2010
Agnolo Bronzino (1503-72) was the pupil, assistant and probably the lover of Pontormo. He was also the court painter for Cosimo I de' Medici. Today this mannerist artist is primarily remembered for his elegant portrait paintings; his drawings are seldom featured in the many exhibition catalogues that I have encountered. Thus it is a rare treat to encounter a volume that showcases his entire known output... more

| | 5. The Negative (Ansel Adams Photography, Book 2) |
| By: Ansel Adams Publisher: Ansel Adams June 01, 1995
This is the 2nd book in Ansel Adams photography series. I really cant stress enough the importance of reading all 3 of these books and reading them in their proper order. Ansel talks about a lot of techniques and many of these techniques build upon previous knowledge. If your serious enough about photography to have an interest in these books then you should want to do it right and doing it right is... more

| | 6. Ansel Adams: 400 Photographs |
| By: Ansel Adams Publisher: Ansel Adams October 29, 2007
I had the opportunity to flip through this book in a book store before I bought it on Amazon. A few people have stated they dislike the size of the book and would have preferred a more 'standard' size But huge coffee-table books can be awkward or take up the whole table. I think this books size works perfectly for it's purpose and I'd rather have more of Ansel Adams images in one book then... more

| | 7. Caravaggio: The Complete Paintings |
| By: Sebastian Schutze Publisher: TASCHEN America Llc December 01, 2009
I just received my copy from Amazon, it came intact and well packaged. Caravaggio: The Complete Paintings is an impressive art book and is sure to please the eye. The transfers to paper are somewhat muted & grainy, but overall the pictures are exquisite. Overall, it captures the period very well. Highly recommended!... more

| | 8. The Print (Ansel Adams Photography, Book 3) |
| By: Ansel Adams Publisher: Ansel Adams June 01, 1995
This is the third and final book in Ansel Adams photography series. I really cant stress enough the importance of reading all 3 of these books and reading them in their proper order. Ansel talks about a lot of techniques and many of these techniques build upon previous knowledge. If your serious enough about photography to have an interest in these books then you should want to do it right and doing... more

| | 9. Avedon Fashion 1944-2000 |
| By: Carol Squiers, Vincent Aletti, Philippe Garner, Willis Hartshorn Publisher: Abrams June 01, 2009
I regard Avedon among the best B/W people-photographers of our age and this book contains a lot of his stunning images, presented in a deliciously large format. It's a fascinating time capsule because black-and-white photography has mostly ceded to color in fashion, and also because the decades-old fashion still appears chic and classy today.
I think this would make a great gift for anyone... more

| | 10. Audubon Wildflowers Calendar 2010 |
| By: CC National Audubon Society Publisher: Artisan July 30, 2009
People give me calendars, but I have to land in the hospital in order to get flowers. Hence, I buy the Audubon Wildflowers calendar for my office wall, and at least I have gorgeous pictures of flowers upon which to rest my gaze. If only I had the 'green thumb' to grow my own!... more
