| 1. This Gun For Hire (Universal Noir Collection) |
|
Starring: Alan Ladd, Veronica Lake, Robert Preston, Laird Cregar, Tully Marshall Directed By: Frank Tuttle July 06, 2004
The Bottom Line:
Veronica Lake is quite fetching and she and Alan Ladd make a good couple together, but nothing in this film really grabbed me and stayed with me after my viewing: if you want an effective and brief (80 minutes) piece of cinema you'll do fine with This Gun for Hire, but it's really quite forgettable.

| 2. So Proudly We Hail (Universal Cinema Classics) |
|
Starring: Claudette Colbert, Veronica Lake, Paulette Goddard May 22, 2007
The movie succeeds in paying tribute to unsung heroes of any war: the nurses. They were an extremely hard-worked, under-appreciated group during World War II, so this tribute is well- earned and I'm glad to have seen it. God bless those ladies who made such sacrifices.
It didn't hurt watching Claudette Colbert, Paulette Goddard and Vernoica Lake, however. All of them looked very pretty... more

Starring: Phil Philbin, Veronica Lake Directed By: Brad F. Grinter March 15, 2001
>I tried hard to take this psuedo-scary flick seriously but alas, it is so far/fetched and campy-that I finally was doing little more than half smiling at it's tackinous; asking myself the age-old question,"Why did they ever make movies like this?"!!! It could've been a lot better with {just} a tad bit more budget allowing for an upgrade of props, improved lighting and a cast with less... more
