Amazon.com: Michael Jackson: The One is a persuasive summary of the Gloved One's career highlights. Jackson appears only in old clips, but the case for his status as an innovative and dominant artist in the 1980s and early '90s is made by an impressive array of witnesses: Beyonce Knowles, Isaac Hayes, Dick Clark, Wyclef Jean, Missy Elliot, and others. Clark recalls meeting child-star Michael and realizing he had a natural drive to be in charge, underscored by Jackson's decision to push "Ben" (technically a ballad sung to a rat from the movie Ben) as a single. Quincy Jones talks about partnering with Jackson despite objections by the Epic record label; his tale of a superhuman push to mix Thriller in 24 hours is fascinating. Also discussed is Jackson's pivotal appearance on the Motown 25 TV special, and his penchant for musical and stylish re-invention on Bad and subsequent albums and tours. --Tom Keogh
We've LOST a GREAT Man and Talent ^ You NEVER realize what we have, until it's gone.... On 06-25-09 the WORLD became a different place.
Great Remembrance of Michael ^ I'm so glad I purchased this DVD. It shows the King of Pop in one of his greatest performances!! He was definitely the King of Pop!!
MJ fans ^ if your an MJ fan, then this is a must. Just love it and highly recommend it to all MJ's fans.
The Best Doc about MJ out there! ^ After reading several reviews complaining about it not having enough Mike, I was fed up. It's a godamn documentary, not a music video. Actually this has to be the best doc out there for mnay reasons.
1.) It has interviews with well KNOWN people. 2.) It plays MJ's music instead of some really annoying funky beat. 3.) Shows concert footage of Mike's songs and not pictures of his concert like other documentaries...*caugh caugh* A Remarkable Life 4.) The price. There are terrible Documentaries for like $14 and this is only half that much and twice as good.
To be honest, It it worth the money. And on the plus side, Mike's team put it together and not money hungery bastards!
I loved this video!!! ^ This video is full of footage of MJ in concert and short films and has lots of celebrities interviews giving their thoughts on MJ. I really enjoyed my purchase and hope that they do an extended edition. The only complaint that I have is that is to short. This video is a nice add on for anyone that already has an existing library of Michael Jackson's work...
