My daughter loves it! I bought this as a 5th birthday present for my daughter, and she loves it! She watches it quite often.
This dvd is BAD We bought my daughter the Princess Songs video - it's great. Based on that, we bought Princess Stories - it's AWEFUL. The animation is very poor - this is Cartoon Channel quality, not Disney. The stories are age inappropriate. The first two are very uncomfortable to watch with a kid -way too much "dark" imagery and too scary. The third story is actual still photos with verbal narrative. I wouldn't want this dvd if it was free.
It's not for Us it is for our little Princess I was reading the other reviews and noticed a common theme. Many parents didn't care too much for the film. Well, I just want to say, that 1) it's not that bad and 2) IT IS FOR THE CHILDREN, NOT US!. Jasmine Monet, my 3 year old (very sophisticate 3) loves this film and could care less if Ariel's lips don't move at the right time. Even my 2 year old son will sit quietly through this movie calling, "Princess..." It's enjoyable for me to see the children's enjoyment. There is a Princess music video as an extra on the disk. It is awesome! I even enjoy this part. There are 2 stories that look like the TV is reading the children a story. This is pleasant for us. Also, the first movie is a Little Mermaid feature. Nothing from the original movie so it's all new to the children. Great stuff in here!
I think this qualifies as a rip off I paid $19.99 for this DVD. For $19.99, I expected full animation for the whole duration of the film(s). The first story on this DVD was full animation. The 2nd and 3rd were stills with story telling (I guess you can call it voice acting). I don't even know what the 4th story was because it just skipped the whole story. This is a total rip off. If Disney has some self-respect, they should set the list price of this DVD at $5.
Can Disney make something for elder Disney Princess fans??? I bet that Disney has got a wrong notion that only little girls love Disney Princess!!! What Should We Elder Disney Princess Fans Do??? Buying this thing for little Disney Princess fans??? Too RIDICULOUS!!! See, what stuff in this DVD??? It's not strange that even little girls don't like it! The story of Ariel, "Wish Upon a Starfish", was one of "The Little Mermaid" TV Series!!! How can Disney do this STUPID thing??? So lazy, so idle!!! I've got nothing much to say about the stories of Cinderella and Belle, they were horrible!! Nothing new and interesting but some old movie clips made up these 2!!! They're so boring!!! I think the best part of this DVD was the music video of "If You Can Dream", a beautiful new song. But how much money does it worth? The part "How to Be a Princess" was rather terrible too! It's too childish to us, even to some little girls! Gosh, what a unsuccessful DVD I've ever seen! And it must be the WORST thing of all Disney Princess products!!! If you bought this, it must be a BIG WASTE OF MONEY!!! Neither you and your little princesses love this I bet!!! I think Disney should correct its notion. NOT ONLY LITTLE GIRLS LOVE DISNEY PRINCESS!!! Now this terrible and boring thing came up, even little girls won't be interested in it! I beg Disney that to make something more interesting for Disney Princess in all ages!!!
