| 1. Godzilla 2000 |
| Starring: Hiroshi Abe, Naomi Nishida, Takehiro Murata, Mayu Suzuki, Shirô Sano Directed By: Takao Okawara December 26, 2000
After the universally panned Tristar Godzilla (1998), Toho decided to correct some of Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin's mistakes. They only partially succeeded. Godzilla 2000 returns Godzilla to his rightful place as a rampaging, powerful, radiation-scarred daikaiju, rather than an oversized, cowardly iguana, but--unfortunately--it also features long stretches of uninspired people scenes and a monstrous... more

| | 3. The Happiness of the Katakuris |
| Starring: Kenji Sawada, Keiko Matsuzaka, Shinji Takeda, Naomi Nishida, Kiyoshiro Imawano Directed By: Takashi Miike November 18, 2008
Features:- The Katakuris are a four-generation family of failures (grandfather, father and mother, children and granddaughter, who narrates the film) who use the father's redundancy pay to buy a guest house in the country. Somehow, each of their guests ends up dead by suicide, accident or murder and once they have made the decision to save their business by burying the bodies and concealing the deaths, t
The film in itself was a joy to watch; brilliantly contrived and executed. I laughed all the way through at the self-aware and ironic cliches.
However, the film was incorrectly marketed in this DVD version as a "Sound of Music" meets zombie romp film. Perhaps this is due to the zombie franchise boom over the past few years, but as a result of the marketing I couldn't help but feel disappointed... more

| Starring: Hiroshi Abe, Naomi Nishida, Matthew Broderick, Jean Reno, Masaaki Daimon Directed By: Jun Fukuda, Roland Emmerich, Takao Okawara, Yoshimitsu Banno October 19, 2004
I just got this and it doesn't have the Godzilla 2000 Special Edition. Just the regular English dub. It seems like everyone was saying that the 2000 dub/sub would be in here, so I'm wondering where the misinformation originated. The only saving grace is the 3 oldies with the original Japanese track... more

| | 6. My Secret Cache (Foreign Film Favorites) |
| Starring: Hikaru Ijûin, Taketoshi Naitô, Naomi Nishida, Gô Rijû, Noriko Tanaka Directed By: Shinobu Yaguchi August 08, 2006
I've seen this both in a theater and on video (twice), and can validate the fact that My Secret Cache is a great crowd-pleaser - one of the most unexpectedly funny films you'll chance into seeing. Lead actress Naomi Nishida launched her film career with this, a performance that's wacky and charming. ... more
