| 4. Commando [Blu-ray] |
|
Starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rae Dawn Chong, Dan Hedaya, Vernon Wells, James Olson Directed By: Mark L. Lester April 15, 2008
This is perhaps the first criticism of a film ever written by a film-maker who coincidentally also in his time -- like Richard L. Lester -- played the "Holy Trinity." In our case "Trinity" means that the functions of the Writer, Director, and Star are combined in one person. The man executing these three functions in any case has a gigantic job on his hands which can only be fully appreciated by someone... more

| 5. Yellowbeard |
|
Starring: Graham Chapman, Peter Boyle, Cheech Marin, Tommy Chong, Peter Cook Directed By: Mel Damski June 27, 2006
Do not let the cover fool you, this is not a Cheech & Chong movie. I assume the distributor in the US thought that putting their two faces so prominently on the cover would shift more units but this seriously misrepresents the films content. Overseas releases of this DVD had different artwork that more accurately reflected the cast etc. Cheech and Chong were most certainly in it but only briefly... more

UP IN SMOKE (1978) opens with a fine cameo from Strother Martin and Edie Adams as Tommy Chong's irate parents, who demand that he find a job. Chong storms out of the house. He and a full drum set take off in his VW. The car dies in the desert; Chong (as Anthony 'Man' Stoner) hitchhikes and is picked up by Pedro de Pacas (Cheech Marin).
The two musicians quickly bond. 'Man' lights the... more

The Principal (1987) has the great actors James Belushi and Louis Gossett Jr, (both with high critical and viewer acclaim) _ taking on challenging roles. There's a glimpse back at the 1980's a quarter century later, in particular, the fascinating scenario of an inner city high school comprised of a melting pot of various cultures and backgrounds.
