Ultimate Matrix (HD DVD) The HD version of the Matrix is ridiculous. The $50 pricetag is well worth it. I only hope my HD player lasts forever.
Ultimate Matrix Collection HD-DVD Good Movies with 5 star reviews on their picture and audio quality. Great price. 'Nuff said.
An Interesting Premise Embellished to the Extreme No, not once did I ever think that Neo (Keanu Reeves} was in any way, shape or form Jesus Christ like so many have made that analogy. If I had to compare Neo to any other entity, it would be Paul Atreades (Mordib) the messiah like character portrayed by Kyle MacLachlan in the David Lynch movie "Dune". That's where any similarities end. When I saw the first installment in "The Matrix", I was more fascinated by the special effects than I was of the plot, but now having seen all three installments, I see how really important "The Matrix" was in setting up the next two installments. Kudos to the Wachowski Brothers in making a worthy sci-fi trilogy, one you can watch again and again throughout your lifetime. The "Ultimate Matrix" collection is a must have for any collector. There's a fourth disk going into the making of the trilogy. The HD DVD presentation is fantastic and preserves this collector's edition for all time. The detail is phenominal in that it reveals things I missed completely in the dvd version even though they weren't important in the telling of the story. I gave this movie four stars instead of five because political correctness was evident in every scene, and there were underlying political messages that tried to seep through from time to time. I would give this movie four stars for the movie itself and five stars for the technical presentation.
High Definition rocks...first Matrix was revolutionary, rest, not so much Don't know when this is coming out on blu-ray so I'd recommend buying and HD-DVD player (going for well under $100) and picking up these classics cheap. Yeah, HD-DVD is the next laserdisk, but there's a fire sale going on and the quality of high definition is incomparable to standard DVD on a HD tv. Extras are ok, and it's nice to have everything in one place. Watch the first movie again and see how groundbreaking it really was. It stands the test of time. The other two are all high-tech with self-indulgent plots.
Best Valentine's Day Present. My bf loved it!!!!!!!!! In these kind on movies you can really understand what "Hign Definition" means. I can't believe the studios are supporting blu-ray... HD-DVD is WAY better (and cheaper)... So why we have to buy super expensive blu-ray players that don't give you the same quality & sound than an HD-DVD player (which btw costs only 120 bucks).
