| 1. Summer Rental |
| Starring: John Candy, Karen Austin, Kerri Green, Joseph Lawrence (II), Aubrey Jene April 17, 2001
For fans of John Candy's earlier films, Summer Rental is a must see. Not as mature as Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Summer Rental is still enjoyable. It looks at a man trying to relax at the beach and provide a vacation for his family that they will all remember. He, of course, offends the only person able to ruin his vacation. There are no great lessons in this film. The film quality is minimal... more

| | 2. Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber |
| Starring: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Colin Ferguson, Natassia Malthe, Daniel Roebuck, Stefanie von Pfetten Directed By: Dana Lustig February 21, 2006
Features:- Jennifer Love Hewitt stars in this update of the Cinderella story. She plays the ambitious Katya Livingston, an ad exec in her late 20s who has finally arrived at the top of the social ladder--or so she thought, until she upsets another socialite at her wedding and finds herself uninvited to the ball at Covington Castle. Katya will stop at nothing to get herself on the list--and meanwhile, she mee
This move was a fave of mine because I totally relate!! Anyone else that I know that loves this movie is also someone that can relate to the lifestyle.
A person that would do anything to be at the top of the ladder, in the know with "the top people", wearing THE best everything etc.
I love this movie!!... more

| | 3. Pulse |
| Starring: Terry Beaver, Cliff De Young, Roxanne Hart, Myron Healey, Joseph Lawrence (II) October 04, 2005
This movie was remade in 2006, but don't bother with the new version. 1988's The Pulse is one of the better suspense/horror movies of the 80s era. It has a creepy atmosphere and a great cast including Charles Tyner as a mysterious old man and Joseph Lawrence as the kid victim nobody will believe. It seems an evil energy is invading homes through the electrical lines, and one of the best effects is... more

| | 4. Cops and Robbers |
| Starring: Cliff Gorman, Joseph Bologna, Charlene Dallas, James Ferguson, Frances Foster December 02, 2003
Not to beat this topic to death, but here's a couple more comments. The present movie is far from being ruined. It's still enjoyable. The spirit and feel are still there. It's just that for those who have seen it and enjoyed it in its first form, the alterations are annoying and pointless and at the expense of the original total experience.
The original version was closer to 100 minutes... more

| | 6. Witchcraft 11: Sisters in Blood |
| Starring: Stephanie Beaton, Vinnie Bilancio, Wendy Blair (II), Heather Branch, Don Donason January 09, 2001
First, it was refreshing that the "good-guy" occultist's fiance did not perfectly match the "starvation chic" ideal. This film is not scary at all. I realize that this type of film is a thinly-disguised blue movie, but this barely qualified as horror. Some of the "scary" parts and even some of the naughty bits were unintentionally funny in a MST3000 sort of way... more

| | 8. A Packing Suburbia |
| Starring: Thomas Brandise, Mariana Carreno, Robert Alexander, Aesha Waks, Molly Castelloe Directed By: Stephen Szklarski June 11, 2002
This film won the New York Independent Film Festival Award for a reason. Though gruesome, its a real life story about life in the ghetto, gang violence, love and hate. Sound quality is not the greatest, but this film was done on a minimal budget, because it was an INDEPENDENT film. Everything is perfectly audible, and the ending leaves you wanting more, but realizing the generation we are now living... more

| | 9. Honor Thy Father |
| Starring: Joseph Bologna, Brenda Vaccaro, Raf Vallone, Richard S. Castellano, Joe De Santis Directed By: Paul Wendkos February 04, 1998
WESTLAKE's edition of HONOR THY FATHER is stored in a glossy heavy paper gatefold cover. DVD extras include bios, filmographies and a photo gallery.
The 1973 TV adaptation of Gay Talese's "Honor Thy Father" came in the wake of Coppola's THE GODFATHER. Obviously, "Godfather" is fiction that draws from real events while "Honor" is a fairly accurate portrayal of a real crime family... more
