| | 3. Love is a Many-Splendored Thing |
| Starring: William Holden, Jennifer Jones, Torin Thatcher, Isobel Elsom, Murray Matheson Directed By: Henry King May 06, 2003
Love Is A Many Splendored Thing is my favorite movie. I love the theme song and it's such a wonderful romantic movie. I have watched it many many times and I cry every time I watch it. The hilltop scenes are my favorite. Whenever I am outdoors and butterflies are flitting about, I am always hoping one will land on my shoulder - watch the movie and you will see what I am talking about. It is a... more

| | 4. You Were Never Lovelier |
| Starring: Fred Astaire, Rita Hayworth, Adolphe Menjou, Isobel Elsom, Leslie Brooks Directed By: William A. Seiter May 25, 2004
You Were Never Lovelier boasts terrific song and dance numbers performed by Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth; and the acting is very convincing throughout the picture. The cinematography and the choreography shine--especially in those dance scenes. Fred Astaire is in excellent form here; and even if he isn't dancing with Ginger Rogers you'll see quite a match in Rita Heyworth! The script was well... more

| | 6. The Paradine Case |
| Starring: Gregory Peck, Ann Todd, Charles Laughton, Charles Coburn, Ethel Barrymore Directed By: Alfred Hitchcock February 10, 2009
Nominally an Alfred Hitchcock film, it has egomaniac David O. Selznick's paw prints all over it (and his name, literally, all over the opening credits). It's surprising he didn't claim he played all the on-screen parts, did the cinematography, and wrote the film score! Selznick rewrote the script and essentially took full credit as the screenplay writer. The film was a box office disaster, and... more

| Starring: Stanley Adams, Iris Adrian, Felicia Atkins, Pat Dahl, Brian Donlevy October 12, 2004
Hello to all you Jerry Lewis Fans!
I loved this movie. I especially liked the music by Count Basie when Jerry is sitting in the board room, "pretending to be the big boss man". That part is so hilarious to me. I have watched this movie many times with my dear twin sister and we both laugh at the same parts in the movie. Thanks!... more

| | 8. Monsieur Verdoux |
| Starring: Charles Chaplin, Mady Correll, Allison Roddan, Robert Lewis, Audrey Betz Directed By: Charles Chaplin March 02, 2004
Features:- Charles Chaplin turns his traditionally sunny sensibilities inside out with this sublime black comedy about a family man who secretly uses murder to support his beloved invalid wife and child. There's little of the immortal Tramp in Verdoux, yet the fastidious dandy is not lacking in comic graces. Most hilarious of all are the always-foiled attempts to dispatch the raucous Annabella (Martha Raye).
According to the commentary included with this 1947 film, Chaplin considered Monsieur Verdoux one of his best films. It would be more accurate to regard it as one of the best for illustrating his enormous vanity and self-obsession. In his 1940 film, The Great Dictator, Chaplin found humor in Hitler, who resembled him slightly in appearance and more than slightly in ego. In this film he finds a similar... more

| | 9. Casanova Brown |
| Starring: Gary Cooper, Teresa Wright, Frank Morgan, Anita Louise, Edmund Breon Directed By: Sam Wood May 22, 2007
Gary Cooper gets maternal in CASANOVA BROWN, Sam Wood's 1944 comedy about the lengths a divorced father will go in order to remain close to his child. Co-starring Teresa Wright and Anita Louise, this is sadly one of the least-remembered titles from Cooper's long and varied screen career.
Casanova Brown (Gary Cooper), a mild-mannered scholar--and apparent distant relative of the renowned... more
