| 1. The Manchurian Candidate (Special Edition) |
| Starring: Frank Sinatra, Laurence Harvey, Janet Leigh, Angela Lansbury, Henry Silva Directed By: John Frankenheimer July 13, 2004
...The original Frankenheimer version was a Classic and never should have been re-made. The Denzel Washington, Merly Streep politically correct version was twisted around to beat up on Corporate American Capitalism and was manipulative. I for one refuse to be manipulated by Hollywood agendas so I ignored the re-make and treated it as pure gargage.
...The only fly in the ointment... more

| | 3. Ghost Dog - The Way of the Samurai |
| Starring: Forest Whitaker, Henry Silva, John Tormey, Cliff Gorman, Dennis Liu Directed By: Jim Jarmusch August 14, 2001
I'm usually on the side of the intellectuals when it comes to movies, but this time I vote with the 22 people who give this one star. It took me 5 days to be able to see this film. And no, I don't have a short attention span. Boring is the word I keep thinking of. I do love to read the 5 star reviews of this film, especially the first 5 star review that says that "this film... more

| | 4. Above the Law [Blu-ray] |
| Starring: Steven Seagal, Pam Grier, Henry Silva, Ron Dean, Daniel Faraldo Directed By: Andrew Davis April 07, 2009
Features:- In his sensational screen debut, Steven Segal smashes his way into the top ranks of action stars, playing a maverick Chicago cop tracking down ex-CIA operatives trafficking drigs?and plotting a political assassination. Director Andrew Davis (The Fugitive, Under Siege) unleashes the fury all over the Windy City as Nico and partner Jax (Pam Grier) close in on a psychotic crimelord (Henry Silva). Thr
This film, filmed in 1987 when Seagal was 36, is his film debut, his very first film. I remember being thrilled seeing it in the theater. As a martial arts instructor, I was awed by the resemblance of Ai Ki Do to T'ai Ch'i--Seagal, as he explained in an interview then, was trying to show American audiences what AI Ki Do is and how it works. As with so many others, Seagal inspired me to go out and learn... more

| | 6. Sharky's Machine |
| Starring: Burt Reynolds, Rachel Ward, Vittorio Gassman, Brian Keith, Charles Durning Directed By: Burt Reynolds October 20, 1998
This is the movie in which Burt Reynolds put all of his considerable (but often underused) talent to work, both as actor and director. Surrounding himself with colorful characters, Reynolds plays it appropriately cool. As a director, he coaxes excellent performances from his co-stars (Bernie Casey's improvised monologue is among the highlights) and his direction is taut and confident. The film desperately... more

| | 7. Cinderfella |
| Starring: Jerry Lewis, Ed Wynn, Judith Anderson, Henry Silva, Robert Hutton Directed By: Frank Tashlin October 12, 2004
I just watched this movie this morning. As Jerry Lewis movies go, this one is strangely quieter than most of his other movies. Although the movie is a generally pleasant diversion, it isn't as funny as his best movies. He plays a totally passive, doormat that his family members continuously insult and order around, and he strangely never seems to object to this abuse or stand up for himself, for whatever... more

| | 8. Alligator |
| Starring: Robert Forster, Robin Riker, Michael V. Gazzo, Dean Jagger, Sydney Lassick Directed By: Lewis Teague September 18, 2007
Before he wrote and directed such films as EIGHT MEN OUT, MATEWAN, LONE STAR, CITY OF HOPE and BABY IT'S YOU, the extremely talented John Sayles graced us with screenplays for 3 of the most entertaining horror movies of the late 1970's and early 1980's. For director Joe Dante, he penned the delightful PIRANHA (1978), THE HOWLING (1981)- still the best werewolf movie ever made in my opinion, and... more

| | 9. Lust in the Dust |
| Starring: Tab Hunter, Divine, Lainie Kazan, Geoffrey Lewis, Henry Silva Directed By: Paul Bartel March 26, 2001
See the campiest Divine EVER as "she" rides into the biggest spoof of a western movie you ever DREAMED could happen! Lust in The Dust's lead actor and most delicate belle, Rosiata Velez, is played by none other than 300 lb actor Harris Glenn Mlstead, A.K.A. "Divine". Divine opens the movie with the most dead-pan seriousness a self-proclaimed "dance hall girl" can muster as she nearly "dies from... more
