This is a good sampler to start with as more and more movies go to high-def. The price was right too. I don't even have a HD-DVD player yet but of course it comes with a standard DVD side to the single disc for best of both worlds. I'm really looking forward to that new Plasma and HD player coming soon to me this year. Blu-ray and HD-DVD is the way of the future!
HDscape Sampler HD DVD fantasic clear images but very short duration of each title, by the time you start enjoying it, the title is over. If you dont mind playing the repeat button - this is very good, but for me it was just too short of a duration for each title.
Had Issues with Xbox... but no more... So I was one of the people that got this HD-DVD when it came out, and there were issues with playing it back on the Xbox 360 with the HD-DVD drive, that issues seems to have gone away thanks to some updates from Microsoft.
That being said, this is a pretty DVD, just a short sample of several of the company's products, but usually enough to show of the picture quality on your TV. For me, I have an older Xbox that did not have the HDMI port so I am using the component, and I do really think that there is a quality hit from using Component versus HDMI. Since you are going Dgital (the Disc) to Analog (Component) back to Digital (TV), I am sure that part of the issue will come from the Xbox conversion of the video to component.
