funboy The best concert lighting ever..awesome dvd..great Irish audience..I was there Love Bowie and this is him at his best
Still worth it. Michael Thomas Roe's comments are bang on.
This is a great concert spoiled by a director with ADD. And the sound isn't that good either: both the stereo mix and the 5.1 seemed a little muddy to me.
But if you always meant to see a Bowie concert and never got around to it, this is the DVD for you. Inspite of it's "faults" it still shows a master at work.
I loved every minute.
new songs are better live This is my first review on Amazon- I must say that the newer material comes across much better live. It's not the visual; it just sounds better to these ears. There's more passion and (I believe) more of his old style of singing (higher vocals, and his old style of spoken word). I very much recommend this DVD, especially to those who are non-plussed with his later stuff. The band is tight and as far as sonics go; I believe this one stands up to any of his other stuff.
Awesome I am a huge Bowie fan, but this is my first "live" Bowie experience. I was not disappointed. This has every Bowie classic. And the rendition of Under Pressure is ALMOST as good as the original with Freddie. Turn this on, turn this up, and enjoy.
A Bowie fan must have! For Bowie fans the Reality Tour DVD is a must. It is 140 minutes of 100 percent Bowie magic. The 30 song setlist richly spans the length of his numerous musical reincarnations. Bowie, ever the performer, brings the house down on every number proving that he's still got it. The band is amazing especially basist/vocalist Gail Ann Dorsey, who fills in for the late Freddie Mercury on Under Pressure. The DVD is a really great opportunity for fans who missed the live show, as well as a special treat for people who were lucky enough to see the great David Bowie on tour.
