| 1. The Last Wagon |
| Starring: Richard Widmark, Felicia Farr, Susan Kohner, Tommy Rettig, Stephanie Griffin (II) Directed By: Delmer Daves May 23, 2006
Director and screenwriter Delmer Daves is almost certainly best-known nowadays for the 1957 3:10 TO YUMA, a taught and suspenseful, almost minimalist character-driven western in black and white which got a new lease on life when it was remade 50 years later. Otherwise, Daves' many westerns have faded somewhat in the collective cineaste consciousness, at least in comparison with his contemporaries... more

| | 3. Jubal |
| Starring: Glenn Ford, Ernest Borgnine, Rod Steiger, Valerie French, Felicia Farr Directed By: Delmer Daves April 05, 2005
JUBAL is a nicely entertaining Western soaper. Directed by Delmer Davies who gave us several earthy, romantic, baby-boomer soapers [i.e. A SUMMER PLACE, 1959; PARRISH, 1961; ROME ADVENTURE, 1962] and who gave us the original, classic 3:10 TO YUMA [1957]. This deals with an itinerant cowpoke, played by Glenn Ford [Jubal], who is hired by wealthy rancher Ernest Borgnine. Big boss Ernie is a gruff... more

| | 4. Charley Varrick |
| Starring: Walter Matthau, Joe Don Baker, Felicia Farr, Rudy Diaz, Marjorie Bennett Directed By: Don Siegel December 28, 2004
Cheesy music, hitman story, crummy sets and locations. Matthau is pretty good, but the story is not engaging or convincing as clever suspense. There are bunches on non-sequiters and for a movie that wears nearly 2 hours the plot is pretty thin. Supposedly Charlie is some kind of rebel hero, but the script never convinces us he's more than a selfish thug himself. Overall, a misstep for Matthau... more

| | 5. Kiss Me, Stupid |
| Starring: Dean Martin, Kim Novak, Ray Walston, Felicia Farr, Cliff Osmond Directed By: Billy Wilder July 15, 2003
This is a REALLY funny movie, from the very beginning! Kim Novak is awesome, as usual, and Ray Walston is absolutely hilarious! Seems a little ahead of it's time, a surprising twist, totally enjoyable!... more

| | 6. Kotch |
| Starring: Walter Matthau, Deborah Winters, Felicia Farr, Charles Aidman, Ellen Geer Directed By: Jack Lemmon July 06, 2004
Solid movie on family values. Relaxed pace and content. It's a shame you can't find any of these movies at the video stores anymore. If it's older than 2005 it's relegated to the dust bin apparently. Fortunately my library had a copy. Matthau in 1971 in an elderly role that, in retrospect, is amusing considering the elderly curmudgeons he would famously play as an adult. In this... more

| | 7. The First Texan |
| Starring: Joel McCrea, Felicia Farr, Jeff Morrow, Wallace Ford, Abraham Sofaer Directed By: Byron Haskins November 17, 2009
Any resemblance between Joel McCrea's portrayal of Sam Houston, and the historic Houston is purely coincidental, but "The First Texan" is still great fun, as Houston leaves politics and his Tennessee home for the open ranges of Texas...and rides into the fight of the settlers against the tyrannical Mexican dictatorship of Santa Anna! All the famous personalities make appearances (Bowie, Travis... more
