I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I sat down to watch this film, but what I got was far more than I bargained for. One of those dusty western films that is far from dusty, `Lone Star' works more like a crime noir with a dash of thriller and volatile romance thrown in as apposed to a western by definition. | | 9. Down and Out in Beverly Hills |
| Starring: Nick Nolte, Bette Midler, Richard Dreyfuss, Little Richard, Tracy Nelson Directed By: Paul Mazursky August 13, 2002
In my review of Peter Jackson's "King Kong", I remarked that one should not remake a film unless there's something wrong with the original that needs fixing, or that one has found a new take on the material. Paul Mazursky's "Down and Out in Beverly Hills" does neither.
