| 1. Hitman (+ Digital Copy) [Blu-ray] |
|
Starring: Timothy Olyphant, Dougray Scott, Olga Kurylenko, Robert Knepper, Ulrich Thomsen Directed By: Xavier Gens March 11, 2008
Sometimes it helps to go in with low expectations. My wife and I are huge fans of Timothy Olyphant from Deadwood so we decided to give Hitman a chance even with the bad reviews. While it won't win any awards at this year's "let's praise ourselves" meetings, it's actually a pretty decent watch for a rental. Timothy O is a good actor and pulls off the role well. If you played the Hitman game, you... more

| 5. Arabian Nights |
|
Starring: Mili Avital, Alan Bates, James Frain, Tchéky Karyo, Jason Scott Lee Directed By: Steve Barron August 07, 2001
This 1999 version of the "Arabian Nights" really surprised me (in a good way) when I first viewed it and, in review, it still stands as a fun, unconventional telling of a classic tale. It was produced about the same time that CGI was getting of the ground so it adds but does not overwhelm. There is almost a "hungry" energy in the performances which expands the movie set to include the viewer. Settle... more

| 6. The Ten Commandments [Blu-ray] |
|
Starring: Omar Sharif, Dougray Scott, Linus Roache, Naveen Andrews, MÃa Maestro Directed By: Robert Dornhelm August 12, 2008
Features:- TEN COMMANDMENTS, THE BLU-RAY (BLU-RAY DISC)
Overall, I really enjoyed watching this movie, and look forward to watching it again. Though I will admit, some of the graphics, and even some of the acting could have been better, overall it was great. The message was so in sync with the scriptures from the Bible, and helped bring the Bible to life in my opinion. Very motivational, inspirational, and a great teaching tool in my opinion. I recommend... more

| 7. To Kill A King [Blu-ray] |
|
Starring: Patricia Kerrigan, Dougray Scott, James Bolam, Steven Webb, Melissa Knatchbull February 26, 2008
TO KILL A KING is an interesting film about a troubled relationship between two powerful men. I agree with those reviewers who highlight this aspect of the film because it truly is more of a character piece than a historical drama. My only problem with the film is its pacing. It drags in places and urges one to shut it off. But don't. It's definitely worth a watch... more

Starring: Dougray Scott, Kate Winslet, Saffron Burrows, Jeremy Northam, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Directed By: Michael Apted September 24, 2002
I saw this in the theater when it first came out and recall being underwhelmed as I pretty much just ticked off the characters and events as I recalled them from Robert Harris' fine novel. I appreciated it, I suppose, but didn't really get into it.
Watching it (and re-watching it) now when I recollect little of the book, I really admire this film on it's on terms. It's a gorgeous... more

| 9. Perfect Creature |
|
Starring: Dougray Scott, Saffron Burrows Directed By: Glenn Standring July 17, 2007
This is a visually stylish movie that puts an interesting spin on the vampire myth. Unfortunately this new mythology is underused and this is, in effect, just another 'hunt the monster' movie. In this respect it is moderately successful but suffers a couple of major flaws. Neither Scott nor Burrows have been suitably cast. Both are talented actors but neither is able to bring their derivative characters... more

| 10. Dark Water (Unrated Widescreen Edition) |
|
Starring: Jennifer Connelly, Ariel Gade, John C. Reilly, Tim Roth, Dougray Scott Directed By: Walter Salles December 26, 2005
This is a remake of a Japanese film from 2002 with the same title. The original was directed by Hideo Nakata. This American "Dark Water" from 2005 is directed by Walter Salles, a Brazilian filmmaker who goes completely Hollywood with this production. I admit I haven't seen the original Japanese Dark Water but I can't imagine it's a better looking film than this.
I originally saw this... more
