| Starring: Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Diane Venora Directed By: Michael Mann November 10, 2009
Features:- When Al Pacino and Robert De Niro squarer off, HEAT sizzles. A tale of a brilliant L.A. cop (Pacino) following the trail from a deadly armed robbery to a crew headed by an equally brilliant master thief (De Niro). Val Kilmer, Jon Voight, Tom Sizemore, Ashley Judd and Natalie Portman co-star. Format: BLU-RAY DISC Genre: ACTION/ADVENTURE Rating: R Age: 883929073337 UPC:&nb
The plot of Heat is not new. A smart thief and his crew are trying to pull a major heist and when a master cop gets wind, the film becomes about the chase.
In Heat, watching this chase takes around three hours, but that is a plus. Michael Mann makes a spacious film, recalling 1970s crime drama. This movie is really not about the action--though it is contained here--but about the characters... more

| | 3. The Insider |
| Starring: Russell Crowe, Al Pacino, Christopher Plummer, Diane Venora, Philip Baker Hall Directed By: Michael Mann April 11, 2000
Thid id s terrific movie and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My credentials for rating a movie are purely subjective: I like what I like and find most professional movie reviewers are off the mark most of the time. Based on how I liked the movie I offer the following:
The story line is fascinating. There aren't too many two and one half hour movies I can say this about. I have no illusions... more

| | 4. The 13th Warrior |
| Starring: Antonio Banderas, Mischa Hausserman, Sven Ole Thorsen, Clive Russell, Omar Sharif September 15, 2009
This movie was famously poorly edited. Nonetheless, it says more about "warrior spirit" than any of the "chop Sockey" films out there. The scene of the last charge of the Eaters of the Dead --- wow! When I need a little strength I watch that scene a few times. The casting is excellent, and although the story is a little improbable in places -- learning a foreign language well just by listening... more

| | 5. The 13th Warrior |
| Starring: Antonio Banderas, Diane Venora, Vladimir Kulich, Dennis Storhøi, Daniel Southern Directed By: John McTiernan, Michael Crichton January 18, 2000
I have enjoyed most of Antonio's movies. This one will hold your interest and keep you wondering what will happen next. If you do not like blood and a little gore, you may not want to see this. I thought it was put together very well and he plays his character very well as ususal. He is just great!! I enjoy actioni adventure and am glad I purchased it. Oh, one of my... more

| | 6. Hamlet |
| Starring: Ethan Hawke, Kyle MacLachlan, Diane Venora, Sam Shepard, Bill Murray Directed By: Michael Almereyda April 17, 2001
Shakespeare is the man, or I guess I should say he WAS the man. I mean, when you think about all the authors, visionaries, artists and the like who have made a permanent stamp on the world of modern artistry, Shakespeare tops that list. Sadly, not every attempt at capitalizing on his influence pays off. Sometimes reimagining a good thing can produce a great thing (just look at the '96 version of... more

| | 9. The Jackal - Collector's Edition |
| Starring: Bruce Willis, Richard Gere, Sidney Poitier, Diane Venora Directed By: Michael Caton-Jones April 28, 1998
"The Jackal" is a remake of the 1973 movie "The Day of the Jackal". In that movie, a professional hit man known only as The Jackal is hired to assassinate French president De Gaulle. His perfect murder plot is foiled only at the very last second, in a closing scene that's almost a cult classic. In the new version, The Jackal is hired by a foreign mobster to take out a high ranking American official... more

| | 10. F/X |
| Starring: Bryan Brown, Brian Dennehy, Diane Venora, Cliff De Young, Mason Adams Directed By: Robert Mandel June 13, 2000
This movie rates 6 stars, however the DVD release is only rated at 1 star, so the average is 3. I really hate to say this, but MGM should be ashamed to release a DVD of this poor grade. A movie of this caliber deserves much better.
In 1998 Orion Pictures was going through some tough times when MGM decided to buy them. So, this truly historic film wasn't release on DVD till the year 2000... more
