Features:- The sparkling series featured the irresistible William Powell and Myrna Loy chemistry as husband and wife sleuths who solved murders with the aid of their wire-haired terrier, Asta. These have to be some of the most entertaining, imaginative, and just plain wonderful movies to ever come out of Hollywood. No one since then has come close to William Powell and Myrna Loy for charisma and charm as a couple (not forgetting Asta, of course). They make it all look so effortless---shaking martinis, wearing silly hats, chasing bad guys----and still looking like a million bucks! ... more

| | 2. Road House (Fox Film Noir) |
| Starring: Ida Lupino, Cornel Wilde, Celeste Holm, Richard Widmark, Charles Flynn September 02, 2008
Jean Negulesco's "Road House" is an above-average, noirish romantic thriller that deserves to be much better known. I don't find the screenplay particularly satisfying--among other things, I wish it showed us more of the trial that forms the film's centerpiece. Also, this isn't a true noir, because the ending is too hopeful. Despite the abundant gunplay, there's no innocent guy being led to his doom... more

| | 7. A Christmas Wish (aka The Great Rupert) |
| Starring: Don Beddoe, Frank Cady, Candy Candido, Chick Chandler, Jimmy Conlin Directed By: Various November 04, 2003
I have this movie in it's digitally restored, remastered and colorized version "A Christmas Wish". The skin tones aren't exactly right, but I like it better than the black and white version.
It is a charming, funny and sometimes touching movie. The version I have also includes a commentary with Terry Moore, which funny and insightful. Tom Drake from Meet Me in St Louis is also in this... more

Fix yourself a rum & coke, grab a pack of smokes and settle in for two bizarre hours of cinemania. (For those who care, though it shows some wear, the print... more
