| 1. Alice in Wonderland |
| Starring: Cary Grant, Gary Cooper, W.C. Fields, Richard Arlen, Leon Errol Directed By: Norman Z. McLeod March 02, 2010
Long known in some of the worst dubs I've ever seen, the 1933 Paramount all star cast production of "Alice in Wonderland" has now been issued on an 'official' DVD. Well, what we have here, though slightly better than the best video dub I've seen, remains disappointing. I suspect the quality is far inferior to the original nitrate copy currently residing in the UCLA Film Archive vaults. Given the brilliant... more

I have seen this movie several times and never get tired of seeing it again.
This is in my opinion one of the best Cary Grant, movies and the fact that it was directed by Alfred Hichcock, only makes it better. The "Blue-ray 50th Anniversary Edition", is well worth it's price. The book form it comes in makes it an even more pleasant surprise, with the behind the scenes photo's of... more

| | 4. To Catch a Thief (The Centennial Collection) |
| Starring: Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Jessie Royce Landis, John Williams, Charles Vanel Directed By: Alfred Hitchcock March 24, 2009
This 1955 film is Hitchcock's adventure into romantic comedy, or as one critic called it, "romantic thriller." I can see that!
The story is apparently about a man who used to be a jewel and diamond thief but after the war and his heroics there in the French Underground, has retired from being a cat burglar (The Cat) and lives in a fancy house with servants in the French Riviera... more

He plays a Manhattan adman plunged into a realm of spy (James Mason) and counterspy (Eva Marie Saint) and variously abducted, framed for murder, chased and in a signature set-piece, crop-dusted. He also hangs for dear life from the facial features of Mount Rushmore s Presidents. Savor

| Starring: Katharine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, Cary Grant, James Stewart Directed By: George Cukor, Howard Hawks, George Stevens February 03, 2009
Amazon's prices for these classic collections is very reasonable, and the product delivers what it claims. Good quality classic film collections. The four movies in the collection we purchased were contained on 2 double-sided DVDs. My only compliant is that the DVDs are not well labeled, although as the DVDs are double-sided, there's really no way to put a 'stick-on' label on them. The titles of... more
