This offering by Panasonic is a good value and a very good camera. The strength is obviously the 12x zoom lens. What can you say - it zooms...
The video capability is what led me to purchase the DMC-ZS3. It has image stabalizer which is a must. The recording options are JPEG-movie (.MOV) and AVCHD Lite (which I have not yet found use for).

Already had a Canon camera that I liked but wanted a smaller one for outdoor stuff like skiing. Can't really take a nice camera to the top of a mountain. This camera is TINY. The camera has a great grip and weight, nice battery duration, and make terrific pictures.. You get good colors and quality using the correct settings.
Menu is not so easy to use (if u are not familiar with canon), but after few days, u get it!

Great hard-shell case. It was recommended for the Panasonic ZS1, but it's more of a square shape as opposed to the ZS1's rectangle shape so there is extra room inside the case and it appears pretty bulky once zipped up.
