Wizards is the film that sprang forth from Bakshi's mind.

| Starring: Dennis Alwood, Carmen Argenziano, Daryl Bartley, Tyke Caravelli, Cathy Cavadini Directed By: Steven Hahn June 21, 2005
I just can't believe I had never seen this movie before. As an adult animation fan that loves popular to obscure animation, when well done, I only recently heard about this film and ordered it. It is a sci-fi adventure from 1985, with all the trimmings of space opera cinema... robots good and bad, interplanetary travel in spaceships, a talking ship, monsters, battles galore, slaves and smugglers, assassins... more

(*NOTE: Review pertains specifically to the particular media release format, as opposed to the actual content.)
Without a doubt, "Fantastic Planet" is amongst the most enduring animated foreign films of all time. The story is as intricate yet accessible as any science fiction is ever going to be, entailing many of the themes which were relevent during its initial release - and remain... more

| | 6. Strings |
| Starring: James McAvoy, Catherine McCormack, Julian Glover, Derek Jacobi, Ian Hart Directed By: Anders Rønnow Klarlund August 16, 2005
Other reviewers have commented on how wonderful this film is and they're right. That you can take a movie starring marionettes and direct them in such a way that the audience feels for them as they would characters in any live action movie is a remarkable feat. Thanks to great voice over work by notable actors, these puppets become true characters.
The story is decent but not great. Somewhat... more

| | 7. City of Rott |
| Starring: City of Rott Directed By: FSudol February 12, 2008
An elderly man and his trusty walker go in to City of Rott looking for some new slippers. There's only one problem, the city is overrun by blood thirsty zombies. What follows is a gore hounds dream, animation style.
What made me watch City of Rott? Well, I was attracted to it by it's cover. A cartoon zombie flick with it's main star wielding a walker. I was kind of reminded of Bubba Ho... more

| Starring: Max Bludharte, FSudol Directed By: FSudol August 05, 2008
FSudol is back with a brand new animated horror feature and if you're a fan of his first film City of Rott, you're sure to enjoy Dead Fury...maybe. As with his last film, Sudol handles the animation, character's voices and the film's score and the hard work and attention to detail that went into this film is just phenomenal; everything about Dead Fury was impressive. Everything that is, except for... more

This set contains 3 animated stories from Middle-Earth. The Hobbit, maa be considered as an introduction for the main story, The Lord of the Rings. This animated episode is very accurate, and depicts the book in a very interesting way. The second, The Lord of the Rings, is another animated version with good finishing and accurate plot. The weak point is that it finishes with the assault on Helm's Deep... more

| | 10. Yellowbeard |
| Starring: Graham Chapman, Peter Boyle, Cheech Marin, Tommy Chong, Peter Cook Directed By: Mel Damski June 27, 2006
Do not let the cover fool you, this is not a Cheech & Chong movie. I assume the distributor in the US thought that putting their two faces so prominently on the cover would shift more units but this seriously misrepresents the films content. Overseas releases of this DVD had different artwork that more accurately reflected the cast etc. Cheech and Chong were most certainly in it but only briefly... more
