| 1. The Hollywood Book of Death: The Bizarre, Often Sordid, Passings of More than 125 American Movie and TV Idols |
|
By: James Parish Publisher: Contemporary Books of McGraw Hill October 29, 2001
This is an excellent reference book, but most of this info can be found online. All of this is google-able info, but to have it condensed in book form is convenient. New information about Hollywood death still surfaces. If you want to read the truth about the most tragic, most mourned Hollywood death of the twentieth century, read "Goodbye Natalie Goodbye Splendour" by Marti Rulli and Dennis... more

I enjoyed this book, both as a ghost story lover and someone who likes classic Hollywood. Many stories I haven't heard before are here, some are familiar. Classic Hollywood fans will probably love reading about stars who seem to still walk their old homes and, pardon me, "haunts."... more

| 8. Hollywood Babylon--It's Back |
|
By: Darwin Porter, Danforth Prince Publisher: Blood Moon Productions June 01, 2008
Having read Kenneth Anger's original two volumes which were noir-ish and fun, I was hoping this might be another go-around at Hollywood doing its level best to cover up for itself and being EXPOSED. Sadly, about the only thing that was true is the exposed part. Never have I seen a book so populated with male frontal nudity. This book abounds with grainy pictures that look as though they've been snagged... more

I have identified the 4 best books written about scandals, and here they are: My first choice: Hollywood Earth Shattering Scandals: The Infamous, Vilains, Nymphomaniacs and Shady Characters in Motion Pictures, by Maximillien de Lafayette. This book gave us more information than any other book. My second choice: Hollywood Babylon, by K. Anger. This book has become a legendary chronicle of... more

| 10. Cut!: Hollywood Murders, Accidents, and Other Tragedies |
|
By: Denise Imwold, Andrew Brettell, Heather von Rohr, Warren Hsu Leonard Publisher: Barron''s Educational Series November 01, 2005
This is a big book with many stars, classic, silent, modern, etc. People I have never heard of like Cathy O'Donnell, Tom Tyler, and Dorothy Dell are even here. A few are missing, a few photos were labeled with the wrong people, like Heather O'Rourke, and the circumstances surrounding their deaths is rather small in some cases. If you want more details you might be disappointed, but overall a good book... more
