By: Warren Ellis, Raulo Caceres Publisher: Avatar Press August 08, 2007
One of the best military history lessons I've ever had and quite enjoyable.
As other have mentioned the language is only for readers mature enough to understand the context, similar to the show Deadwood... more

I have read everything by Mr. Ellis and this is definitely on of my favorites. As on of the most versitle writers in comics and graphic novels Warren and pulls of this gothic thought provoking graphic novel masterfully. Marek Oleksicki draws some of the most beautiful black and white art I have ever seen. Everone I lent this to loved it. I don't see how anyone could give it less that 5 stars. ... more

Anyone familliar with Freakangels knows that you can read this free every week, but this thing is so great that it is worth purchasing even if you have read the entire story to its current episode. |
By: Warren Ellis, Jacen Burrows Publisher: Avatar Press September 10, 2008
I was hesitant to buy this graphic novel due to it being in B&W. I am so glad I put my hesitations aside. I will warn you that it will leave you feeling disturbed. The story line is great. I was drawn in like a moth to a flame. I soon forgot about the lack of color. The story took over. I read it in one sitting. Disturbingly awesome read. ... more

If you are a fun, you already know what it is about. If you are not, you are probably about to become one! Excellent work from two masters of the kind. I would not be able to favour either the story or the graphics, they are both amazing. And although anyone can read it for free at the Freakangels site ([...]), for a fun of the spieces it's a must have! Watch out for V3... more

He then calmly holds a press conference to say that he judged them guilty for their crimes, and that he expects new elections to be held in short order.
Chaos, of course, ensues.
Not the least... more

I sat down, opened up the trade and read it in one sitting. Not because I had nothing better to do, but I was caught: hook, line, and sinker by the second page. If you've read Ellis' Crooked Little Vein: A Novel (P.S.) and enjoyed it, then you'll love this tradeback (and vice-versa).

| 10. Ministry Of Space |
|
By: Warren Ellis, Chris Weston, Laura Martin Publisher: Image Comics March 16, 2005
The sort-of second installment in Warren Ellis' space trilogy(the sort-of first being Orbiter, which came out while Ministry of Space was still delayed, the final one being Ocean.) Unlike the others, which are pretty straight-forward science fiction tales, this one is an alternate history. The lynchpin of this divergence from our own is the Royal Air Force grabbing the top German rocket scientits... more
