| 1. Alan Moore's The Courtyard (Color Edition) |
|
By: Alan Moore Publisher: Avatar Press March 11, 2009
this GN was well reviewed. I bought it, and found it ordinary. Nothing a few dozen twilight zone episodes have not covered.

| 2. Voice of the Fire |
|
By: Alan Moore Publisher: Top Shelf Productions July 15, 2009
Whenever an admired comic book writer makes the crossover from comics to novels I usually leap at the chance to see how the writer acquits himself. To varying degrees I've never been disappointed, and such is the case with Alan Moore's novel "Voice of the Fire". Moore is a fantastic writer, not just in terms of storytelling, but also in how he arranges words on a page to accurately simulate the characters... more

| 3. Alan Moore's Hypothetical Lizard Limited Edition |

By: Alan Moore, Sebastian Fiumara, Lorenzo Lorente Publisher: Avatar Press August 22, 2007
Very odd. I like Watchmen, Supreme is pretty good, but this experience was just plain strange and not exceptionally entertaining... more

| 4. Lost Girls Hardcover Edition |
|
By: Alan Moore, Melinda Gebbie Publisher: Top Shelf Productions June 30, 2009
A different take on the traditional stories of Alice, Dorothy and Wendy, although the sexual nature of the book is not for the under-aged or those of prudish minds. I really liked some of the major illustrations throughout the story that showed the parallel of the original story and Moore's version. An interesting (and titillating!) read... more

| 5. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century 1910 |
|
By: Alan Moore Publisher: Knockabout Comics May 22, 2009
This work felt like a too-short return to the League after an experimental hiatus with the Black Dossier. The comic develops old relationship and spawns new legacies to be continue in later works. There is one significant plot line, but overall this comic felt too short to satisfy. Sequel?... more

| 6. The Mindscape of Alan Moore |
|
Starring: Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons, David Lloyd, Melinda Gebbie, Kevin O'Neill Directed By: DeZ Vylenz September 30, 2008
My expectations were low when I borrowed this from the library, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Moore is such a treasure trove of interesting factoids, especially when it comes to his influences, his expectations, and his motivation for writing comics. He is full of interesting ideas and observations about Western society... one would think he wrote books instead of comics. more

| 7. Alan Moore's Light Of Thy Countenance |
|
By: Alan Moore Publisher: Avatar Press April 01, 2009
The summaries I've read for Alan Moore's LIGHT OF THY COUNTENANCE, and even the back cover of the book, make it sound as if the entirety of the story focuses on a character named Maureen Cooper. Well, that's certainly not the case. Many authors have tackled the question of what gods make up our modern pantheons. From Harlan Ellison to Neil Gaiman, it's a subject that seems to fascinate writers just... more

| 8. Swamp Thing Vol. 4: A Murder of Crows |
|
By: Alan Moore Publisher: Vertigo August 01, 2001
I said Swamp Thing was a great book, but point is, this volume is so well written it surpasses many comics, books or movies. First time I see something as glamorous and as meaningful as Lord of the Rings. I really was speechless at the end of reading. End might be predictable, but it IS meaningful.
People, stop reading reviews and get all six books. Read them slowly and digest them slowly!... more

| 9. Alan Moore's Writing For Comics Volume 1 |
|
By: Alan Moore, Jacen Burrows Publisher: Avatar Press June 24, 2003
This is probably the most honest piece of writing I've ever read. in this thin but precious book Alan Moore writes about almost everything in order to wake up your mind, tips, anecdotes, his procedures, not so extensive but so damn clear, that's the first part (written many years ago, when Mr. Moore was in his starting years, but already an outstanding writer)
the second part was written... more

| 10. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: The Black Dossier |
|
By: Alan Moore Publisher: WildStorm November 04, 2008
This is a significant shift away from the two earlier LEG books, as one might expect (based on the ending of the second). Here, Moore testing the boundaries of his own genre and playing games with the comic book medium. My favorite portion was the 'Forrest-Gump'-esque character who travels through the annals of empire and history--Orlando. Overall, less action and more careful, conceptual thought than... more
