| 1. The Flash Vol. 5: Ignition |
|
By: Geoff Johns Publisher: DC Comics March 01, 2005
Buy this volume only if you have to have a complete set of "The Flash"; don't buy it for the art, because the...art...sucks. Not only does the artist seem to lack the ability to draw super-speed action well, he seems to lack the ability to draw anything well. His work is ugly and he shouldn't have been given this assignment... more

| 2. The Flash Vol. 6: The Secret of Barry Allen |
|
By: Geoff Johns Publisher: DC Comics August 01, 2005
This graphic novel is fantastic. It realy opens up the world of Wally West. After the loss of his two children, thanks to Zoom, Linda leaves him and it drives him crazy. This is a must have for all Flash fans. It also ties in with Identity Crisis which is pretty cool. Trust me, if you love Wally West as The Flash, just pick this one up. I also reccomend, "Rouge War" and "Blitz" Here's the best way... more

| 3. The Flash, Vol. 7: Rogue War |
|
By: Geoff Johns Publisher: DC Comics January 04, 2006
Like Mark Waid before him, Geoff Johns managed to breathe new life into the Flash during his long run on the series, particularly his re-vamping of the scarlet speedster's rogues gallery. Rogue War culminates Johns' monumental run on the series, bringing the long brewing war between the reformed villains and the Rogues to a head, with the Flash and Keystone City smack in the middle. Rogue War starts... more

| 4. The Flash Vol. 2: Rogues |
|
By: Geoff Johns Publisher: DC Comics February 01, 2003
Geoff Johns continues with his good work on the Flash here, and again in this series the Rogues gallery is well handled. A few stories that focus on the bad guys of the piece, in this trade, as the title indicates.
The most interesting is again, Captain Cold, showing a bit more depth to the character than you might otherwise think.

| 5. The Flash: Wonderland |
|
By: Geoff Johns Publisher: DC Comics October 03, 2007
This is a solid story and great interaction between Flash and Captain Cold. However, I was expecting something along the caliber of John's more recent work on JSA, Green Lantern, and Action Comics. This is not on the same par. Perhaps his Flash work evolved to come close to his current masterpieces, but not here. I think I'll just wait until Flash: Rebirth to see what else Geoff can bring to the hero... more

| 7. The Flash: The Return of Barry Allen |
|
By: Mark Waid Publisher: DC Comics July 01, 1996
The Flash: The Return of Barry Allen is well written and well drawn. Anyone who enjoys the Flash and has not read Flash 74 thru 79 will get the complete story in this graphic novel.
Or will they?
It seems there is a crossover to Green Lantern 40. Would it have hurt to include that story in this book? Nothing I love more than buying one comic to complete a graphic novel. If... more

| 8. The Flash: Terminal Velocity |
|
By: Mark Waid Publisher: DC Comics September 01, 1995
This was the first Flash book I ever read and it got me hooked. I now own all but one of Wally's trades currently out and that last is on it's way.
Lots of action, romance, friendship and Hell Yeah's in this one. Loved every minute of the Flash and the speedster family and friends saving the world from the bad guys. Two spandexed thumbs up... more

| 9. The Flash: Race Against Time |
|
By: Mark Waid, Brian Augustyn Publisher: DC Comics July 01, 2001
Mark Waid has The Flash on a high speed tour of the future in this trade. As he pours on the speed to enable time travel, he encounters future Flash John Fox, who is a fair bit of a smart arse. Wally comes to be quite suspicious about his motives, and realises he must get back to his own time, as John Fox may be up to no good there.

| 10. Flash: The Fastest Man Alive - Full Throttle |
|
By: Marc Guggenheim, Tony Daniel Publisher: DC Comics December 05, 2007
Warning, this review contains spoilers! Couldn't do it without doing so!
Bart Allen is one of my favorite characters in the DCU. So after what they put him through and the terrible issues that proceed this book, I was pretty pissed that it looked like they were going to kill him. But Gueggenheim wrote a very good Bart and this book is very well done. Made me cry, which comics don't... more
