| 2. Absolute Kingdom Come |
|
By: Mark Waid, Alex Ross Publisher: DC Comics July 12, 2006
I first purchased Kingom Come as individual volumes upon their first release. I rarely have time to go through my collection, so DC Absolute Editions and Marvel's Omnibus collections are great ways to enjoy classic stories right off the bookshelf. Kingdom Come is a perfect example of this. Alex Ross' art leaps off the page with boundless energy and enormous impact. This is arguably his best work, less... more

By: Kurt Busiek, Alex Ross Publisher: Marvel Comics January 20, 2010
Wizard gave this bad boy spot #2 on their best graphic novels of all time. I highly disagree, Marvels is better than DC: The New Frontier by a long shot. This novel is the most realistic superhero comic ever created. What would all of us puny humans have to say about all these superhero's destroying our property in fist fights? Regular Joe's don't usually have a huge appearance in superhero books... more

Love the book...a Christmas gift for my son. Packaging for the book was a thin white envelope. The edges of the book were completly smashed in. The book had been listed as "excellent" for the condtion, so I am assumuing the bad condition was due to poor shipping. A padded envelope would have helped. Sorry!... more

By: Jim Krueger Publisher: DC Comics October 07, 2008
The overall storyline was pretty good. I didn't understand why Joker wasn't affected by the nanomachines. The Plastic Man/Elastice Man rivalry didn't add much. It seemed a little weird that everyone would be won over by the former villians so fast, but that seemed like a minor issue. The reason for the dreams was hinted at enough for the explanation presented at the end to not be much of a shocker... more

There's nothing more i can say about this book, but this is the second time that amazon sent me a dented book. That's pretty lousy when you're paying nearly fifty bucks! I recommend buying from a third party: they're generally more careful with shipping. ... more
