| 1. Marvel Comics Presents: Wolverine Vol. 2 (v. 2) |
| By: Marv Wolfman, Erik Larsen, John Buscema By: Erik Larsen Publisher: Marvel Comics January 11, 2006
This is a pretty solid vintage Wolverine collection that pulls together two separate story lines, one By Marv Wolfman and another written and drawn by Erik Larson. Of the two the Wolfman story is much more enjoyable, although it is pretty simple and the small page count per issue (7-8 pages) keeps the plot pretty thin. The Larson story runs through the last 3 or maybe 4 issues collected here and... more

| | 4. Wolverine Classic, Vol. 1 |
| By: Chris Claremont, John Buscema Publisher: Marvel Comics April 06, 2005
Following his short anthology story in the first 10 issues of Marvel Comics Presents (also in TPB form as Marvel Comics Presents: Wolverine), we see Logan continue his adventures in Madripoor with his supporting cast of Lindsay McCabe and former Spider-Woman Jessica Drew. Unlike today's Wolverine stories, these aren't your "blood n' guts/grim n' gritty" stories. Dark, yes. But they maintain... more

| | 5. Wolverine Classic, Vol. 2 |
| By: Chris Claremont, John Buscema Publisher: Marvel Comics October 12, 2005
This is the second in a series of graphic novels reprinting Wolverine's first ongoing series. Though the stories appear in black and white in Essential Wolverine vol. 1, this is the first time many of these have been published in color in graphic novel form. Though it gets off to an odd start, most of the stories in here are wonderful. It reprints Wolverine vol. 1 #6-10 and the break down of content... more

| | 7. Wolverine |
| By: Chris Claremont Publisher: Marvel Comics April 01, 2009
Wolverine is taken for granted today, but back when this comic mini-series came out he wasn't guest-starring in every book and little was known of the character's history. This storyline put in place many of the elements that still survive today. Not only that, it made the character interesting to those who had no interest in him before.
Claremont and Miller are at the top of their games... more

| By: Peter David, Jo Duffy, Gene Colan, John Buscema, Klaus Janson, Barry Kitson, Bill Jaaska Publisher: Marvel Comics October 10, 2007
A collection of several issues of the Wolverine comic from its earlier days. The first one of which includes artwork by the fabulous Gene Colan as Wolverine tries to save a kid from the Snow Queen, an assassin with disorientation powers.
While the others don't live up to that, as his Patch disguise in Madripoor is the story we are takalking about here, there are guest appearances from... more

| | 9. Wolverine: Weapon X |
| By: Barry Windsor-Smith Publisher: Marvel Comics April 01, 2009
Weapon X is one of the coolest concepts in the Marvel Universe. Anyone who reads comics should find interest in Logan's dark past. While this comic may not be what I expected, I fell in love with it as the story slowly moved on. At one point I thought it was going to be an inaccessable Grant Morisson type comic, but thankfully the story becomes more and more clear as you move along. Weapon X is... more

| | 10. Wolverine Classic, Vol. 4 |
| By: Archie Goodwin, John Byrne Publisher: Marvel Comics October 11, 2006
... that works VERY well. We have Logan doing his best, we have a connection with the that time summer event, we have MARVEL special guests and we have a unexpectdely link with a 70s series whose main characters should be more valued. And we also have BYRNE, of course!... more
