| | 2. Rear Window (Collector's Edition) |
| Starring: James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Thelma Ritter, Raymond Burr, Wendell Corey Directed By: Alfred Hitchcock March 06, 2001
Actually, "Rear Window" is a great film- suspense, Jimmy Stewart, and Raymond Burr as the brow beaten heavy you love to hate. The VHS version is fine with me. You can read the summary on Wikipedia. What creeped me out was the love interest between the aged old Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly. (I did not need to see Jimmy with his shirt off either.) The makeout scenes could have been deleted, for... more

| | 3. Vertigo (Collector's Edition) |
| Starring: James Stewart, Kim Novak, Barbara Bel Geddes, Tom Helmore, Henry Jones Directed By: Alfred Hitchcock March 31, 1998
So much has been written about "Vertigo" itself that a buyer of the "Legacy Series" DVD of the film is probably most interested in whether or not this is a better or worse DVD of the film than has been available before.
The "Legacy Series" edition of "Vertigo" is a significant upgrade from prior DVD issues of the film. Nevertheless, it is unclear if this edition is a higher resolution... more

I love Alfred Hitchcock movies and this is one of my favorites, especially because Tippi Hedren is the star and I like her. This movie has plenty of suspense and Sean Connery is great... more

| | 5. Dial M for Murder |
| Starring: Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, Joe Alves, Peter Bogdanovich, Richard Franklin Directed By: Alfred Hitchcock, Laurent Bouzereau September 07, 2004
Features:- When American writer Mark Halliday visits the very married Margot Wendice in London, he unknowingly sets off a chain of blackmail and murder. After sensing Margot's affections for Halliday, her husband, Tony Wendice, fears divorce and disinheritance, and plots her death. Knowing former school chum Captain Lesgate is involved in illegal activities, Tony blackmails him into conspiring to kill Margot
I wouldn't put this movie in the top drawer of Hitchcock's output but it's still well worth watching. With the DVD, the extra features are very illuminating and watching the analysis of people like Peter Bogdanovich deepens the viewer's understanding and enjoyment.
The movie is based on a successful play by Frederick Knott, one of those playwrights much celebrated in their own time and... more

| | 6. The Man Who Knew Too Much |
| Starring: James Stewart, Doris Day, Brenda de Banzie, Bernard Miles, Ralph Truman February 07, 2006
I have seen this movie many times on television but this is the kind of movie you never get tired of seeing.
This is a terrific movie that was made by a master director, Alfred Hitchcock. Just that alone should tell you what a great suspense you are in for. Jimmy Stewart and Doris Day, play off one another perfectly. It only takes a minute for you to believe that they really a... more

| | 7. Strangers on a Train |
| Starring: Leo G. Carroll, Farley Granger, Patricia Hitchcock, Lorne, Marion, Roman, Ruth Directed By: Alfred Hitchcock June 11, 1997
Features:- Strange thing about this trip. So much occurs in pairs. Tennis star Guy (Farley Granger) hates his unfaithful wife. Mysterious Bruno (Robert Walker) hates his father. How perfect for a playful proposal: I'll kill yours, you kill mine. Now look at how Alfred Hitchcock reinforces the duality of human nature. The more you watch, the more you'll see. "Isn't it a fascinating design?" the Master of Susp
A film noir mystery with bite and suspense!
Guy (Farley Granger) is as tennis pro who is riding a train to see his wife, who he is trying to finalize a divorce. Bruno, the effeminate momma's boy and very wealthy, also boards the train. (Hitchcock makes a cameo appearance here, trying to get on the train with an encased bass violin!) The camera follows the pants, the shoes... more

| | 8. To Catch a Thief (The Centennial Collection) |
| Starring: Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Jessie Royce Landis, John Williams, Charles Vanel Directed By: Alfred Hitchcock March 24, 2009
This 1955 film is Hitchcock's adventure into romantic comedy, or as one critic called it, "romantic thriller." I can see that!
The story is apparently about a man who used to be a jewel and diamond thief but after the war and his heroics there in the French Underground, has retired from being a cat burglar (The Cat) and lives in a fancy house with servants in the French Riviera... more

| | 9. Rope |
| Starring: James Stewart Directed By: Alfred Hitchcock June 20, 2006
It's evident from the reviews that this is love it or hate it film. Unfortunately, while I don't think it's quite as bad as some of the other reviewers do, I would say it is a failure. As you probably know, this was Hitchcock's first color film, and he tried the experiment of filming it in as close to one continuous take as he could. Apparently, in those days, the technicolor film had to be changed... more

I am a big Hitch fan, but never saw Lifeboat. The twists are interesting. Who else can direct an entire movie only shot on a life boat, and make a cameo appearence on the boat? This is a classic and worth watching... more
