| 2. The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions |
|
By: Howlin' Wolf July 26, 1989
Old time blues is great, but when an old time blues singer gets better technology and a back up band who worrships the ground he walks on, the stage is set for the perfect album.
London Howlin Wolf Sessions from 1969 is this album. Wolf went into the studio with Eric Clapton, Klaus Voorman, some of the Stones, all the guys who started the British Blues Boom and took the music Wolf helped... more

By: Howlin' Wolf April 08, 1997
I have been waiting to review this CD, which says a great deal about the quality of the music. This was my introduction to Wolf's music, and it was a most memorable introduction!
I was hoping that someone would pick up on the fact that Howlin' Wolf's vocals sound like they were just about to overload the microphone. It says a lot about the power and ferocity of Wolf's vocal delivery... more

| 4. Howlin' Wolf/Moanin' in the Moonlight |
|
By: Howlin' Wolf October 25, 1990
Though it's been a couple decades since I've played "Moanin' in the Moonlight", I'm playing it as I'm writing this and it's all coming back. I'm a whole lotta years older now than when this came out. "Some of them said years ago, `We will never make it to the moon.' I said: `You never know.' Today, we settin' on the moon & got a flag up there. You understand? But they told me that we couldn't do that. Don't never... more

| 8. The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions |
|
By: Howlin' Wolf March 04, 2003
Amazon's critic, Hal Horowitz, pretty much says it all here. Whether it was Wolf's health or any other set of circumstances, these recording sessions simply never found their groove, and the result is miserable. It seems perverse to use the word "boring" for an album headlining a performer whose voice alone would wake the dead, and some of the best - and certainly most famous - musicians of the time... more
