Changes you make on one device are automatically sent to a secure online server, the MobileMe "cloud," and back down to your other devices, keeping them all in sync. MobileMe works with the native applications you use every day--Microsoft Outlook on a PC and Mail, Address Book, and iCal on the Mac. Access your email, contacts, calendar, photos, and documents from anywhere with a suite of elegant, ad-free web applications at me.com. It all goes where you go.

Maybe you have a computer at home, one at work, and an iPhone or iPod touch. And it can be hard to keep them all up to date. But now there's MobileMe. Wherever you are, your iPhone, iPod touch, Mac, and PC are always current and always in sync. And with a suite of elegant new web applications, you can access your data from anywhere.
  • Automatic sync.
MobileMe stores all your email, contacts, and calendars on an online server--or "cloud"--and syncs them to your iPhone, iPod touch, Mac, and PC. When you make a change on one device, the cloud updates the others. The sync happens automatically and continuously. You don't have to wait for it or remember to do anything--such as docking your iPhone and syncing manually--to stay up to date.

(Please note: Updates between me.com and iPhone or iPod touch will occur in a matter of seconds; updates between me.com and Macs running Mac OS X Leopard and Windows PCs may take up to 15 minutes when MobileMe is set to sync automatically. Macs running Mac OS X Tiger may experience longer sync times.)

  • Works with the native applications you know.
Do everything you need to do on every device you own. MobileMe works with Mail, Address Book, and iCal on a Mac; Microsoft Outlook on a PC with Windows XP or Vista; and the built-in applications on your iPhone or iPod touch.

Check your email, change your calendar, edit your contacts, and more at me.com. Accessible anywhere, me.com is an ad-free suite of web applications--Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Gallery, and iDisk--that are elegant and easy to use. You can drag and drop, click and drag, use keyboard shortcuts, and even switch between applications with a single click. Me.com is such a great web experience, it seems as if you're using desktop software.

1 out of 5 starsMobile.MeSS
THIS ISN'T A REVIEW WRITTEN THE WEEK MOBILE.ME CAME OUT, IT WAS WRITTEN MONTHS LATER IN MID-OCTOBER. The product is still lousy, and no where near the quality .Mac was.

I'm a LONGTIME Apple product & software nut, going back to the Apple LISA (google that!)

This summer, my .Mac mysteriously changed to something called Mobile.Me. Apple in their arrogance of NOT giving me a "heads-up" on what they were about to do (or giving me tips on how to use the new Mobile.Me) really made a major PR and "branding" error.

I suspect everyone reading this review knows the issue going back to the Summer of 2008. Well, read on, I'm writing this on October 13, 2008.

My wife and I bought two each iPhone 3Gs on 10-8 and with these, we had the chance to get two each "free" trial versions of Mobile.Me for 3 months. We both tried the "trial versions" and we were so disappointed, we have already canceled. If Apple can't even give these away for "free" I don't see how they expect to sell this service.

#1. I dropped my .Mac e-mail address for several reasons, mainly because under Mobile.Me, it takes FOREVER to access the Mobile.Me main page and then click on the mail feature (it was like this on day one of the Mobile.Me launch and now in October it STILL runs and loads slower than I can bear. (I got a new G-Mail account and it is super fast in delivering my mail to all my devices, Sony VAIO, 3 Apple Macs and my new iPhone.)

#2. The ability to back-up files to Mobile.Me accounts runs slower than an old woman walking across a Walmart parking lot on a spring day. Everybody these days has an external hard drive and backing up on my iBook is a snap.

#3. Sending photos to Mobile.Me is slow and complicated... There are lot's of other FREE services out there that run faster and are easier for friends to access.

#4. Videos on Mobile.Me? You can't beat YouTube and others for FREE postings.

Apple used to have a slogan, "computers for the rest of us." Now there slogan should be "Mobile.MeSS, it doesn't cost LESS, and it isn't the Best." Mobile.Me is to Apple, what New Coke was to the Coca-Cola company in the mid 1980s... a major booboo of the worst kind.

4 out of 5 starsMobileMe. I can not imagine being without it!
I love this service! The 99$ subscription may be a little hard to swallow, but I can't see myself NOT using this service.

By far the best feature is the iPhoto sync with the online gallery! All I do is plug in my camera to iPhoto, it pulls the pictures from the camera, I tweak them ever so slighty, and post them on my Online Gallery for the rest of my family and friends to view at their leasure. If I make a change to one of the pictures in iPhoto, it automatically syncs the change. Beautiful!

The iDisk has saved me quite a few times when I have forgotten my flash drive at home and needed to save something to share on a diffrent computer.

The only gripe I have about this service is, I dislike the domain name for the e-mail address. ( yourname@ME.COM )I really liked the old domain name ( yourname@mac.com )But I do like the alias option.

Just like with anything that is new, There are a few bugs when syncing with the mail server, but they are usually fixed right away.

If you own a mac, or even if you do not own a mac ( i started using this service a few months BEFORE owning my mac ) This service is amazing!

4 out of 5 starsmobile me
this is a great product. it ties my Mac computers and Iphone all together by sharing the info between them. it's really great.

1 out of 5 starsHorrible - compatability issues with PCs
I just got this product and had tons of issues with syncing up PCs. The support is really bad too. They don't really support PC issues. I do not recommend this product.

1 out of 5 starsWhy am I still using MobileMe?
Been using iTools and .Mac from the beginning just as many users here.

MobileMe has taken it another few steps backwards.

Firstly, the petty issue of the name. C'mon Apple, you could have done better.

The iPhone has thrown you off course, just like the iPod did. It's at the point where you don't even get full sync with new handsets, but that's another issue for another time. After some months the bugs seem to be growing. While they have extended my subscription, I feel I'm going to let this die.

I would rather pay for features that I can use now with my Mac. $100 seems way too much for all those features I'm not going to use. Sure I loved hosting my homepage on .Mac - iPhoto works great with uploading your special photos for the world to see. The templates are very nice at first. Discounts of some software (but many I did use)... So many great little things I enjoyed that now have been worn off.

Apple it's time you really get serious. You should change your pricing structure into a more 'web hosting' model so we can pay for what we want.

MobileMe is just one of those service that is going to fail and another name change is not going to help you.
