Product Description: Nickelodeon's popular animated series SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS chronicles the wacky adventures of a goodhearted, enthusiastic sea sponge and his nautical pals Squidward, Mr. Krabs, Patrick the Starfish, and Sandy the Squirrel in the underwater town of Bikini Bottom. In WHO BOB WHAT PANTS, Spongebob suffers a case of amnesia and, through a series of unforeseeable events, winds up the mayor of New Kelp City! But with such power in his grasp, will Bob ever want to go back to his old squishing grounds?
Great movie Great movie. My son LOVES this one and watches it over and over again.
Whatever happened to Spongebob?... ...Stephen Hillenburg left, that's what. I know he never would have allowed episodes this condescending, this obnoxious, this unclever [if that even is a word] to ever be made. I was surprised by all the positive reviews, because this is definitely by FAR the worst Spongebob DVD ever made. At least Spongicus (the DVD that came directly after this) is watchable and semi-amusing. Here is a list of the episodes featured here an how I rate them on a scale of 0 to 4 stars.:
*Whatever Happened to Spongebob?: 1/2. This episode, with its painfully ironic title, is boring and unfunny. But perhaps what bothered me the most is how unsympathetic and shallow the characters have become-- it used to be that deep down, Squidward cared about spongebob, but he wouldn't admit it even to himself; now he simply loathes him more than anything else.
*Goo Goo Gas: 0 Stars. This has got to be the most intelligence-insulting Spongebob episode ever. The creators seem to think that the viewers are too stupid to figure out even the simplest of scenarios, so they need to have it explained to them onscreen. One line in particular, "Spongebob is a baby but Krabs is back to normal?" made me want to weep for the future of this once great cartoon.
*The Two Faces of Squidward: 0 Stars. This episode was genuinely painful to watch. I didn't even make it all the way through.
*Spongehenge: +. Not especially funny or entertaining; has a vague blandness to it.
*Banned in Bikini Bottom: +1/2. Plot and humor are uninspired.
*Stanley S. Squarepants: 1/2. A thoroughly obnoxious episode that is almost as painful to watch as "The Two Faces of Squidward".
After Stephen Hillenburg left, there was a period when new Spongbob episodes were just sort of decent/okay. It wasn't until recently that they became indescribably bad.
Spongebob needs to make a turnaround soon before it's too late.

Spongebob isn't just for school age kids! Spongebob has been out for several years but I only became aware of it in December of 2006. That is when my youngest daughter, Emma, was born, and my husband would be up nights with her so I could get some sleep. She is now just over 2 years old and she has 10 to 12 Spongebob DVD's, several stuffed toys (Spongebob, Patrick, or Squidward). She also has several blankets, books that are Spongebob.
The effect Spongebob had on her can be summed up this way: her nursery (pre-birth) WAS Winnie the Pooh. By the time she turned 1, my husband and I had to change her bedroom decor to Spongebob. (Curtains, wall border, stick-on decals.) You name it, she's got it now. I bought her a red Spongebob jacket for Christmas last year. I had to get it from the boys' department at Wal-Mart. Spongebob isn't gender specific at who its viewing audience is. (Emma can name every main character as well.)
Nickelodeon: You could make a killing in the infant/toddler hard and soft lines business with Spongebob. Bedding, wallpaper/borders, clothing(boys AND girls), toys, games, coloring books, etc.
Anyone with young kids will get a kick out of ANY Spongebob cartoon. My husband and I love watching with Emma.
10 year old girl's all time fav! Newer Sponge Bob movie now my daughter's favorite. As the seasons went on, the ratings seemed to go down, but you won't be disappointed with this newer release.
