Not too bad.... I bought this for my brother (age 21) for Christmas and he really enjoyed it. It's a good game for a lot of ages because of the difficulty settings. On easy you don't really have to select which players you want to throw the ball to, just make the motions with the Wii remote.
There are different backyard arenas which add a variety of color and background images which make the game more visually appealing.
The inclusion of "star" players from every team also make this game enjoyable for all football fans.
Overall, I am really happy with it find it appropriate for all ages.
Wii Backyard Football 2009 I purchased Backyard Football 2009 for Wii to give to my niece(age 11) for Christmas and she could not have been happier. My nephew(age 13) couldn't wait to play the game with his sister! From what I understand, this is a great game and it even appeals to teens. I am not a gamer so I have to go by the feedback I get from my children as well as nieces/nephews, and friends of my children.
AWESOME! Grabbed this game as a Christmas present for my 6 year old nephew. Now we can't snatch the thing away from him. The colorful graphics and action filled plays keep him coming back for more. It's easy to play and builds hours of fun.
Lots of fun Bought this game about two days after it came out as my son (6 yrs old) and I enjoy playing backyard baseball quite a bit. The football is somewhat harder for him to understand because of choosing plays, but he's getting there. Its a good way to introduce a kid that age about football, as watching the NFL at that age can be quite a bore for them. After playing this, my son was itching to get outside and start playing football.
As far as the game itself, will take a few times for kids (and even adults) to get it, but once you do its quite fun. Much easier to understand at that age than Madden.
