Product Description: When The Infamous Stringdusters comes out June 10 on Sugar Hill Records, some may assume from the title that it s a debut recording. Those already aware of the Stringdusters phenomenon will know differently: that 2007 s Fork in the Road was the album that boldly introduced this daring, disciplined band to the world of bluegrass and a wider world of music enthusiasts who heard it and decided: if that s bluegrass, then I love bluegrass. Fork in the Road was named Album of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association. Its title track was named Song of the Year, and the band itself earned the honor of best emerging artist in a competitive field. It was a stunning cap to an amazing 2007.
the Infamous Stringdusters I thought this CD would be more of a folk song bunch of music. However, it was way too twangy and country for me! I think the original 'remarks' about it are very confusing. I wish I could return it. But since it was opened and played I cannot.
Good, but not as good as Fork In The Road I was so pleased with their album "Fork In The Road" that I have listened to countless times, I was planning on buying this album as soon as it came out sound unheard.
I did listen to a sample or two on the band's myspace page as well.
I like the album and do listen to it, but it was a bit of a let down, in my opinion, from Fork In The Road. I do not regret buying the album, though.
My favorite song from this album is definitely "Won't be coming back".
Unique! I have over 2000 CD's and this is a unique touch to music and I mean that in a good way. Listen to the samples. I discovered them on a sample CD I get in one of the mags I read. Enjoy
Great follow-up to their first album The Stringdusters know how to bridge the gap between classic bluegrass and contemporary audiences. They innovate without selling out; they stay true to the past without seeming musty and dated. Their sound is infectious and fun, yet they cover serious subjects with solemnity and dignity. This is one album you won't tire of soon.
Modern Bluegrass In their second album, the Infamous Stringdusters continue to introduce the bluegrass branch of the the country music genre to new people. Their soulful rythms, combined with impeccable harmonies and brilliant folksy story-telling make this band a treat to listen to.
