Does what is supposed to do. One star for fun, because I am not the kind of person who likes sitting in front of a gadget and watch it charge its battery, but if you are so inclined, this is the device for you!!!
It does what is meant to do, nothing more, it has 2 flaws though, first, there is no on/of switch, the lights are way too bright, and they never go off, so you have to unplug it at night, unless you're the kind of person that sleeps with a nightlight on.
The second flaw is related, they say on the video that the cord is detachable, so in theory, you could detach the cord and be done with.
Well, I almost ripped the cord trying to detach it before I found out that in order to detach the cord you have to remove a cover where a square transformer is lodged, and attached to that transformer the cord you actually detach is.
So, its easier to pull the plug than detach the cord, which I really don't see a use for this way.
So 3 stars because it does what is meant to, but could be a lot better.
Great Charger Can't seem to find them in the store, ordered it here and it is well worth the money. Not having to plug in to the PS3 is awesome! Lights are a little bright, but not too bad. the adapter is great and doesn't interfere with game play, even with my big paws! All in all a great product and would definitely recommend!
i like it but... I like this charger so much.. but like the other reviews.. the lights are too bright. just unplug it when your controllers are charged. would have liked a simple switch to turn on/off the charger rather than unplugging. Still recommended for PS3 owners :)
Great add-on for the PS3 I'm not a big fan of using the USB cord to charge the PS3 controllers; it takes too long to charge, I don't like leaving the PS3 on when not watcing movies or playing games, and the cables length limits where you can sit. The Nyko charge base provides a compact solution for solving these issues. I found that the controllers will charge in about 3 hours from about 1 bar of existing power. The controllers charge independently so you don't have to wait for both to finish before you can use one. Some have complained about the looks but I think the carge base looks good and it is very easy to use. This is a great, low cost add-on for the PS3.
Great unit. Great customer suppport. This is a great unit. On top of the people at the company who makes it are great, too. When I opened my unit, I failed to notice I dropped one of the adapters on the floor. My dog immediately grabbed it and chewed it to a non-functioning state. When I contacted the manufacture they sent me two more adapters right away at no charge.
