My 5, 7, 9 year old LOVE this game We have had no problems with this game or the DVD. All three of my boys play this game together and have great fun...for as many hours as we let them. It is perfect for the Pokemon addict...which mine are.
Warning though...I purchased mine as "new" directly from Amazon and they sent me a used game that had been re-shrink wrapped. All of the pieces were lose and a couple had been chewed on. The DVD also looked scratched but it played fine. Since it all worked, I have not bothered to return it.
Great fun for Pokemon lovers-Glitch Fixed I purchased this game knowing about the problem of its restarting at Team Rocket stops. However, I e-mailed snaptvgames.com customer service describing the problem. I got an immediate response apologizing for the problem, saying it had been addressed and they were sending me the new good DVD. It came in several days and my 7 year old grandson and friends are very happy to now be able to use Team Rocket.
CD Skips :( My daughter loves Poke'mon and was so excited to get it for Christmas. We started playing it and right away noticed the DVD skipped. It would not finish a sentence every so often. Every time we play it, when we are about half way through, something happens with the DVD and we lose everything. We have to start over. There is no way for the DVD to save your information.
Only one problem w/ GREAT game This game is a lot of fun for little pokemon experts. There are also lots of fun and educational logic and memory problems. I highly recomend it. The only problem is, my copy will, as one person already stated, skip back to the begining and completely restart the game about half of the time we go to the Team Rocket Challenge on the disc. We've overcome this by simply treating all the Team Rocket Challenges as Wild Pokemon squares. (You'll understand that when/if you get the game.) This works out well anyway because the kids like to collect the wild pokemon more than anything else. I expect with all the good reviews that don't mention this problem it's a small percentage of discs that do this. If yours does, exchange it for another one and chances are you'll be good to go. We've had our too long to exchange I think. LOL
DVD keeps returning to start I bought this game after reading all the great reviews on it and when we started playing it, it seemed like a really fun game. Except each time we've tried, it quits in the middle of the game for no apparent reason and goes back to the start. First time I thought it was a glitch, but it kept happening. The first time it was when we made a Team Rocket selection. Not sure what we clicked the next time. But the bottom line is there is a FLAW, and it's frustrating, and my 7 year old now refuses the play the game because it's such a big disappointment when it stops in the middle like that. We have a newer model Sony DVD player, it doesn't have any problem with any other DVDs, so I find it hard to believe that's the problem. And to see the only solution posted on the company's website for crashes is "use another DVD player" is beyond annoying. Like I have a couple extra DVD players just hanging around my house to test this on???? The game should have been tested for quality assurance more thoroughly before it was sold. It's not like I'm using a noname brand DVD player from the 90's here.
