Just as Addicting as it's PS2 Counterparts... Firstly, comments on the PSP 2000: I made this purchase b/c my ipod finally burnt out and I was looking for an all-in-one machine to replace it. The combination of gaming, video and music is what sold me...and I must say that I am not disappointed. It plays MP4s and MP3s crisply (if you have the right software) and the UMD movies are very nice as well. It's a little bigger than the ipod, but the screen is also gi-normous! The red shell w/ the Kratos emblazed upon it is nice, but it's the hardware itself that is what really sells this thing.
As for the game: If you like the other GoW games, than this is just more of the same greatness. There is a little bit of a difference in control since the button scheme is down a few...but once you get used to it, it is seamless and easy to control. Graphically, I'm impressed. I'd say the PSP version is just about on par w/ GoW 1, just about. A must have game...or at least must play.
Lastly, the bundle itself: I feel it was a good deal. The system, the game and the movie (Superbad) for $199. However, there is no memory card involved in the deal. There are other bundles (like the Daxter one) which do include a 1 gig memory card...which is a $20+ dollar value if you go retail. My advice...don't go retail. I was able to get an 8 gig Sony produo card for $60, and there's a 16 gig card out now.
All in all, PSP + GoW = goodness.
Great Portable The PSP is a great portable gaming system with multimedia capabilities. It can play movies, music, stream video and radio, and surf the web via wi-fi.
I use it 99% of the time as a gaming system for when I go on vacation. It is a great entertainment device for this purpose. It has many mainstream games and if you are familiar with the Playstation/PS2/PS3 titles available, you will feel right at home with the PSP.
Overall this is a great system that is less kid-oriented like the Gameboy series of devices. It is a precision piece of hardware with an exposed glass screen. Teens and Adults alike will find the games availale for it to be challenging and fun.
Lots of fun so far. I'm not a big video game freak, but I do enjoy this PSP and God of War. It is a somewhat short game, but I don't have the patience that I once had for video games. Action packed and easy to play for a bit, save and come back to it later. If you don't have a PSP, this one seems like a great buy - I don't think I would have gotten as much gameplay out of Daxter or the Star Wars game that comes in other packages.
fun game but too short I love the silver psp the glossy finish makes it look and feel much more luxurious. The new slim model is lighter, and gets better battery life it comes with a 1gb memory stick a family guy dvd and dexter game the game is fun but short and easy.
PSP Slim 2000 The PSP Slim 2000 is the newest model of the PSP. It is lighter & slimmer then the older versions. It has and LCD Screen. The only disappointments are the USB Cable & Headphones come seperatley as does the Memory Stick Duo & Pouch. But it comes with the PSP, AC Adapter & Battery Pack. The PSP has so many features though. You can upload photos from your camera or PC to your PSP. You can get music from your computer and transfer it to your PSP. You can also upload videos to your PSP. You can play games & share them. You can acess the internet with your PSP with its WiFi. You can get internet radio as well. With its LocationFree Player, you can get TV or your DVD & DVR content. You can also get Skype & RSS Channels. You can watch movies with UMD's. You can also change the settings for you PSP. You can get Network Updates, the USB Connection, your Video settings for the UMD's & your own videos, your photo settings for your slideshow & photos, system settings for you name, language, battery information, system information, enabling & restoring settings. For the theme settings, you can change the background, color of it, or even get wallpapers. For the Date & Time settings, you can change the date and time, time & date format, the timezones & daylight saving. For the Power Save settings, you can change the Backlight Auto-Off, the Auto Sleep & WLAN Power Save. For the Connected Display settings, you can change options to make your PSP compatible with your TV. You can change your Sound & Security settings. For the Network settings, you can change the modes for it. The downfalls are the screen scratches easily & fingerprints get everywhere. You need a case for it. The UMD tray is not as fancy as the last PSP. The PSP may not for younger children because of responsability & caretaking. Oher then that, its the best handheld system.
