    Amazon.com:
When a movie's main selling point is that it's really big and really loud, the soundtrack's got to keep up. But oddly, this CD falls short--tellingly, the first single is a power ballad by the Goo Goo Dolls, "Before It's Too Late," featuring the kind of emoting previously heard in Spider-Man's "Hero." The album's producers have mostly focused on arena guy rock circa 2007, with songs pulled from new or recent albums by the likes of Linkin Park or Taking Back Sunday. There should have been more tracks like the Smashing Pumpkins' rumbling juggernaut, "Doomsday Clock," Disturbed's compact "This Moment" or the Used's riff-a-rama "Pretty Handsome Awkward." Slightly surprising is the absence of electronics and hip-hop, the only exception (sort of) being Styles of Beyond's "Second to None," which sounds like the Beastie Boys on EPO, and Julien-K's "Technical Difficulties." While the big names are packed in the first two thirds of the CD, the last third serves as a showcase for upcoming bands (whose songs aren't in the movie) that sound exactly like their elders--glossy, huge, based on big guitar riffs. In the end, all this aggro energy feels more cosmetic and corporate than authentic. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

4 out of 5 starsSome Pretty Good Stuff
I picked up the Transformers soundtrack after watching the movie a couple of times. I liked some of the hard hitting guitar riffs and vocals. There are a couple of really good tracks on this CD, and listening to them brings back some of the mental images of the movie. My favorite track is "Pretty Handsome Awkward" by The Used. Heavy punch! I am not a real fan of toy robots, but I did find the movie to be good mindless entertainment with alot of good action (and Megan Fox was certainly worth watching!). This CD is worth a try.

1 out of 5 starsHuge waste of money.
I listened to this CD at a friends house and I am so glad that I didn't purchase this CD. A total waste of plastic. I also own the 1986 Animated Film Album CD and that has outstanding music and songs. This CD is filled with songs made by bands that aren't dedicated to making Transformers songs. This CD is very disappointing. Today's music is just bad. Most bands are in it for the money and image. The dedication and actual desire to make music relating to movies doesn't exist anymore. I'm a fan of Linkin Park's earlier song and Smashing Pumpkins early work, but this CD and their songs on here are disappointments. Try the samples out, and unless you want a compilation of these songs, don't waste your time purchasing this CD. There is also a much better CD out that has the SCORE of the movie, the music created by the talented musical composers, NOT the music created by artists that are looking to create garbage music and still pickup their paycheck.

2 out of 5 starsa couple of good sounds but the rest stink
a couple of songs on here are pretty good but the rest of them aren't worth it.

4 out of 5 starsGood Cd
It's not the best soundtrack I've ever heard, but it was pretty good. There are a lot of high energy songs on it that fit with the tone of the movie. I like pretty much all of the bands featured, so I really liked this cd. The high points of it are Before It's Too Late, Doomsday Clock, End of the World, and What's It Feel Like to Be a Ghost? Those to me are just the best songs, but the whole cd is worth listening to. It's especially great to listen to while working out. I really enjoyed this soundtrack. Good work to all who were involved.

5 out of 5 starsWhy can't people get soundtrack and score right?
I am personally tired of reading reviews about how this or that song wasn't on the CD. This is the soundtrack of the movie and it has a lot of good songs on it, if you want the music, the stuff throughout the movie that has no lyrics you are looking for the score, also available through Amazon, not the soundtrack. I say this as a service because I hate looking through pages of reviews trying to find out why something is rated so low only to discover the individual doesn't know what they are talking about, it wastes my time and yours. Most movies have a score and soundtrack these days, so if you don't find what you want on one check for the other. So if you liked the soundtrack get this CD, if you liked the score you're on the wrong page.
