Product Description: More movie clips and more magic! Scene It? Deluxe Harry Potter 2nd Edition is now loaded with new movie clips, trivia questions, and puzzlers from the first four Harry Potter movies, including previously unavailable footage from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Amazon.com Product Description: The popular board game that has players watching video clips and shouting out answers is now available in an upgraded Harry Potter theme. This second edition of Screenlife's Scene It? Harry Potter game is chock full of questions, characters, and clips from the first five Harry Potter movies. Yes, that includes the recently released Order of the Phoenix.
Pop the game's DVD into your player to start the magic and mayhem. Loaded with new clips and puzzles, this version touches on "The Boy Who Lived" to "He Who Must Not Be Named" and all things in between. There are over 1,000 questions on the 160 trivia cards, so even if you see the same snippet from the 180 on the DVD during the same game, the question about that scene will be different. Special technology randomizes the order of the clips to ensure fresh fun each time the game is played.
The themed, interactive game board can be spread out for longer games, or folded when you don't have a lot of time (or players). To help you move around the board there are four metal player tokens (Fawkes, Buckbeak, the Knight Bus, and the Durmstrang ship), one six-sided die to determine how many spaces to move, and one eight-sided die that determines the category to be played. Once the dice have been rolled, clips are watched, questions are asked, and it's revealed just how true a fan you are. Categories span from Colin's Camera (trying to determine an item before the picture is fully developed) to Hagrid's Hut (naming one of the many magical creatures) and from Divination (identifying the character in the crystal ball) to many more.
All the components that come with this Harry Potter Scene It? Game.
Not an experienced wizard? Don't worry. This game is easy enough to learn and fun enough to play even for those who are not overly familiar with the Harry Potter plots. Some questions can be answered simply by paying close attention to the movie clips, while others are about an actor's work outside of these movies. There are also 30 House Points cards available to help (or occasionally hinder) your progress. If these reasons aren't enough to tempt you into a game on your own, then hop on the Hogwarts Express with a friend or family member and play a few rounds in team mode first.
A TV, DVD player, and remote control are needed but not included. The DVD includes an on-screen demonstration of game play.
Scene It? Harry Potter Deluxe Edition ^ We have one of the earlier, generic versions of Scene It - Scene Jr., I believe. We've enjoyed it and were ready to try a new and different version. We've only played this one once so far but were a bit disappointed. The questions/clips don't give enough frame of reference for the player to "fill in the blank". For example, the question might be what character has been removed from the scene. You see a costume from the shoulder (not chest) to the neck with the head removed. You are given no clue as to which movie you are in and the time allowed to respond is brief. It becomes a guessing game rather than a challenge.
Loved it! ^ My son is very into Harry Potter, both the books and movies. We had so much fun playing this game (only played it once so far). It feels like there are endless amounts of questions so we will not get bored. It's a great way to get back into the Harry Potter series after being sad once the books were done and the movies were watched (several times). Would recommend it to any Harry Potter fan.
Fun gift for families with kids of all ages ^ Harry Potter is obviously very popular with kids and adults, and so an entertainment product that parents and children of all ages can truly share. The DVD aspect in particular is an exciting feature, and a typical game might take about an hour so it really is a nice way for families to enjoy time together.
Grandson loved the birthday gift! ^ This gift was purchased for our Grandson's 11th birthday and he loved it. It was fun watching him and his Grandpa play the game and they both had most of the right answers. The dvd was cool with the clips of the movies and it helps for memorization. Am glad we bought the game for him.
Fun for all ^ I bought the first scene it and had so much fun we bought the 2nd edition. I am glad because there is so much entertainment to this one game. The pieces are nice and strong and the board is solid. I have 2 kids so I know about durability. I have had so much fun trying to out guess my son who is very knowledgable about the movies. No matter who wins we always have fun, I highly recommend this game for any family and for any fan.
