Great Folk Singer Josh Ritter is one of my favorite folk singers. And Live at the Record Exchange Ep is one of his best albums.
Too Fast? Not Your Thing? Ritter shows he is not a one banana monkey. He takes his familiar work and deconstructs to show its bones. This collection is superb! That is all there is to it. His music gets a lot of play time in this house and these tracks will join the rest. Good thing we are no longer stuck with vinyl - I'd have to buy a half dozen. My iPod is going to be very happy. One last note: I claim him as an Idaho brother tho I haven't been home since before he was born.
Better all the time I discovered Josh on one of those sample CD's you get from a music mag. I was hooked from the 1st verse. I have all he has done now. To this day for some reason his song "Wolves" just make everything right.
The Colonel Because this song writer is originally from Idaho, the place I call home, I've got to give him his due. However, the songs on this CD are a bit too sentimental for my taste. Write what you actually know about would be my advise to this young tallent.
Outstanding, intimate acoustic performance Having a chance to see Josh perform an acoustic set is one of life's great pleasures. This EP gives one an opportunity to hear Josh performing six songs in a fantastic Idaho indie store. It's immediate and powerful (no silly overdubs), and Josh's warmth and humor shine. One can see why Josh has developed a rabid following!
This EP is a great addition to your collection. It's even a powerful introduction! Buy this now! It's even a deal - 6 songs, for 6 bucks!
