The first crusade to free the Holy Land has ended. A mass of weary knights, squires, soldiers of fortune and priests are making their way home across a Europe that has changed forever. An age of legends and mystery is about to unfold.
George, a handsome English knight, unsettled by the horrendous bloodletting he witnessed in Palestine, desires to hang up his sword and settle down to a quiet, peaceful life. On returning to England, George heads north where he’s heard the land is good and the population sparse and of a kindly King named Edgaar.
He finds King Edgaar in a terrible state. His beautiful daughter, Lunna has recently disappeared. In return for a small plot of land, George agrees to search for Princess Lunna. With Edgaar’s faithful servant, Elmendorf, George sets out.
George discovers both the princess and the truth behind her strange disappearance. The quest now set before them ends in a love, a lie and a legend that has lasted a thousand years.
Fun medieval flick This fine bit of fluff starts with a war-weary knight returning to his homeland, wanting nothing more than to settle down into peaceful obscurity. The princess has gone mysteriously missing, however, and he takes on the quest to recover her.
That princess turns out to be the petite but spunky Lunna, played by Piper Perabo. She's doing quite nicely until some oafs started getting underfoot and trying to save her. The fact that she treats dragons as an endangered species and that the knights are the danger just adds to her problems. Throw in some bad guys, some good guys in surprising places, and a suit of chain mail tailored to Piper's compact and curvy form, and the story stands well away from the ordinary.
It's a great popcorn movie, kid-safe but with plenty to amuse a grown-up who's willing to be amused.

George and the Dragon What an adorable and entertaining movie this is!! James is absolutely gorgeous in this and his acting is superb. This definitely is a must for Purefoy fans. The cast is awesome also. I highly recommend this movie.
A Pleasant Surprise! Never knowing quite what to expect from a movie we'd previously never heard of, and purchased solely on the basis of the other reviews here, we were quite pleasantly surprised by the overall entertainment value of this movie. Action, adventure, chivalry, and a good dose of humor round out this "unbelievable" tale! Totally kid-friendly but just as engaging for adults, my family highly recommends this film!
Great family movie This movie is kind of a cross between The Princess Bride and a very clean Monty Python. It's great for the entire family.
good family show This movie didn't get a lot of publicity but it is a great family movie with values, responsibility and a little romance and fighting added.
